Zion Train Lodge Shashemene

They are extremely welcoming, have created a beautiful oasis and a great vibe. Beautifully crafted accommodation and grounds, with wonderful artworks on the walls, several seating areas and a rich choice of trees and plants which attracts many bird species. And the food was delicious!

I did not like leaving!

The ambience is delightful. The owners will do everything possible to ensure that your stay with them meets expectations. If there is anything you need just ask.

Living in this environment will come with its ups and downs. Be prepared to switch off from the outside world for a while and enjoy this little piece of heaven.

The hosts Sandrina and Alex are a lovely couple. They made us feel very welcome and they were always happy to help and answer our many questions! The lodge is such a peaceful and quiet place it was very tranquil. I liked also that locals visited the lodge regularly and that made us feel connected to the local people even though they didn't speak much English!! I would definitely stay there again

The only thing that wasn't great was the internet connection- the strength was often poor. If you want to forget social media that's great but to keep in constant contact with your family back home was a little difficult.

This place is a piece of peace inside the crowded Shashemene. Fantastic place for those interested in knowing about the rastafarian culture. Sandrin and Alex are gentle and kind and the place is cozy and confortable. And food options are really good! Highly recommended.
