Fantastic setting and location. Very quiet. Great base if your exploring the northen area of the Lake District and Scottish Borders.

Bed mattresses could do with updating/ renewing. Found them to be soft and 'creaky.

Everything about the lodge, the site and the village were wonderful and the owner was a lovely host. My wife and I had stayed here on two occasions forty years ago and this was planned as a happy 'trip down memory lane'. Everything was just as good as it had been all those years ago.

The only thing to comment on was that the lodges did look just a little tired externally and maybe needed a coat of paint here and there. However this did not spoil our time staying here again after all these years.
