Garden Inn

We had a great time, in the morning the monkeys are coming to the balcony and they can be loud so be prepared to wake up rather early- but the balcony is closed up properly so no monkeys inside. If you lie in the hammock be careful, monkeys come very close. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was very nice. We also booked. Two night trek with GardenInn and had an amazing experience. Our Guides, Rudi and Jerry, were great. They spoke good English and always tried to make everything as comfortable as possible for us. The food during the trip was great and plentiful, often it was more than we could finish. We not only saw Orang Utans but beautiful birds, different Apes and Warans etc. Of course, it's not a luxurious trip: be prepared to sleep on thin mattresses, no WiFi or cell signal etc. But with the mosquito net and the cool temperatures and rain during the night we slept well both nights. Thank you Rudi and Jerry as well as the rest of the staff!

Das Personal war super freundlich, herzlich und jederzeit sehr hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns von Anfang an willkommen und gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Die Lage direkt am Fluss ist wunderschön und sorgt für echtes Dschungel-Feeling. Das Frühstück sowie das Essen im Restaurant waren sehr lecker und frisch zubereitet.

Der Fluss war nachts etwas lauter als erwartet. Wir mussten uns eine Nacht daran gewöhnen, danach war es aber kein Problem mehr.

I was very impressed with how smoothly everything went with the Garden Inn. We asked them to arrange transport to and from the airport, the jungle trek (6 hours), and massages after. Herwin and Dede were great guides who taught us a lot during the jungle trek, helped us on some tricky paths, had great humor, and served us great fruit and food. We also had dinner twice (breakfast was included) and everything was easily charged to the room and paid at check-out. The bed was comfortable enough, the shower was solid, the fan worked well (instead of air conditioning). I would highly recommend the Garden Inn.

Watch out for monkeys, but ask the staff if you need help getting your laundry back from drying on the balcony. They were ready to help and very experienced with the monkeys.

Beautiful location on the river in Bukit Lawang. Lovely gardens and friendly staff. It was located very close to where our trek was starting. Staff were helpful with transferring bags, and the food was very good.
