Kauli Seadi Beach Hotel

We chose the Kauli Seadi Hotel as we are keen windsurfers (and wingfoilers). Had a brilliant time both on and off the water. The grounds and bungalows were really nice. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was great. Things to be aware of (about Gostoso generally, not just the KSBH) are that English is not widely spoken (learn some basic Portuguese and be ready to use Google Translate) and timing of service of starters/mains was a bit haphazard. Also, meal options are limited for vegetarians (plenty of great fish). Value for money is very good in this area as most tourism is local not international. On the water, the conditions are suited to strong intermediate to advanced riders (windsurf, wingfoil and kitesurfers) at the KSBH. Low spring tides see flat water for an hour or two, but otherwise there will be chop to deal with (and waves outside the area within the reef). There are also some rocky bits where erosion has taken sand away. On the water we saw turtles and pipefish on a regular basis. We spent 9 days there and all were windy all day (20-30 knots). The centre is well-equipped for all disciplines. In terms of organisation it's way more relaxed than European watersports centres but that is not a bad thing and the team were super obliging. This area of Brazil is not very developed or touristy so if you want a five-star resort experience, shopping as a leisure activity and someone to carry your kit to the water's edge and polish your sunglasses, it won't be for you. If you want authenticity, wind & waves and local hospitality, it's highly recommended.
