The lodge at Carlton tavern free parking

Clean tidy room, comfy double bed, The carlton done a great carvery on sunday and the food menu had a great selection. Really enjoyed the Americano steak meal. Bus stop outside coop 2 minutes down the road, bus to York was 12 mins. Perfect location..

Carlton Tavern was easy to find and is a nice looking pub. The car parking is good. The Lodge is away from and behind the main buildings making it quiet. There is a convenient communal area in the lodge building where you can bring your own food or take away. The room had a small fridge and tea making facilities.

The bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows too hard, creating back and neck ache and a poor night's sleep. The room and bathroom was in need of redecorating. The main light didn't work, the bedside lamp socket sparked and the position of the kettle and tea making was right above a multi power point. There is no breakfast option and no staff available at checkout so unable to raise these points.

Food, staff, ambience very good. Room was basic but clean and comfy.

Easy to get to, free parking, excellent price, good pub with a good food menu. lovely spacious and very cosy room.

Was a bit gutted they stop serving food at 3pm on a Sunday (carvery only) as the food menu looked really good. Had a bit of a drain smell from the bathroom so we kept the door shut all night.

Plenty of parking and very friendly welcome when checking in and no fuss check out, lovely accommodation and highly recommended.
