Highwood Park B&B Guest Lodge

We found a little gem in Malaney at Highwood Park B&B guest Lodge. The lodge is in lush gardens with no close neighbors and stunning views over to the Sunshine Coast. Breakfast was superb, cooked by the hosts in their dining room filled with antiques. The scrambled eggs were the best I have tasted.

If you’re not a fan of the impersonal, budget-friendly Airbnb stays; if you value quality, comfort and good old-fashioned hospitality; Highwood Park might be the place for your weekend away. No ‘your keys are in the lockbox’ here. When we arrived (an hour late and in pouring rain) we were greeted by our host with an umbrella. Who does that? He showed us around the sitting room, dining room and finally our suite, which was truly magnificent, from the emperor-size bed to the enormous en-suite bathroom to the stunning view from the private patio; everything was extraordinary. And then … he invited us to join both hosts in the sitting room for a glass of wine in front of the fire! We enjoyed a delightful hour or so with David and Dean. Now that’s hospitality extraordinaire! Next morning we shared an amazing multi-course breakfast in the beautiful dining room with the other guests, including a perfectly soft-boiled egg with ‘soldiers’; (very nostalgic). Did I mention the fantastic view from all the rooms across the hills as far as the coast? There are other attractions of course, but for me, the genuine friendly hospitality offered by David and Dean was unbeatable. Highly recommend this venue.

What's not to like?

The location with proximity to Maleny was excellent with beautiful views towards Caloundra from our back patio. The breakfast excellent, so fresh and exceeded expectations with multiple coarses served in the dinning room with all needs met.

Nothing, everything was great

Scenery of this area is incredible. Views from patio of suite across to the ocean - stunning. Landscapes in area & views of glasshouse mountains - stunning. Roads - windy, hilly, stunning! (Travel there in daylight). Accommodation - beautiful! - full of character & charm but really comfortable. Breakfasts were amazing! Multiple courses, beautiful dining room, exceptional host.

It will be good when tennis court is back into use after storm damage. A walking track around the property would be lovely - but terrain is challenging for that, so not having one is very understandable. Walking tracks in close proximity.

Great scenic location but still close to all major attractions that we wanted to see.
