Property Notes

Currawong offers you a uniquely secluded experience because it can only be accessed by water. You can take a 25 minute ferry ride from Palm Beach Wharf on Barrenjoey Road, or book the barge or Water Taxi. If you are arriving by boat please book in advance one of the two slip ropes (for smaller boats) or the deep water mooring. Currawong is self-catered and has no shops, please bring your own supplies and beach towels. The peaceful enjoyment of all guests at Currawong Beach Cottages and its facilities is important. Please be aware that between 10pm and 6am noise restrictions take effect and outside noise needs to be kept to a minimum. If you are entertaining in the outside areas please be aware of this or move guests inside. Amplified music is not permitted outdoors so as not to disturb other guests who come here for the quiet. Caretaker’s Cottage is located on low-lying ground, and access may be restricted during heavy rain or large ocean swells. While we’ll do our best to honor all bookings, in rare cases we may need to offer alternative accommodations or, if necessary, cancel your stay. We appreciate your understanding.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation. Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. A deposit may be required at the property.

"Rustic cabins in a picturesque setting with a golf course and tennis court"

Currawong Beach Cottages are in a gorgeous location, with fun outdoor activities: a tennis court, a golf course carved out of the bush, a private beach. There are no crowds, no cars, no shops. Cheryl and Vince were wonderful hosts who helped make our stay comfortable. Vince did a great job maintaining the rooms and grounds, Cheryl solved our accomodation issue. We enjoyed the company of a pair of geriatric wallabies, some feisty bush turkeys and a couple of goannas.

The building we were originally allocated was dark, gloomy and not at all convivial for an extended family reunion. Thankfully Cheryl relocated us to a pair of cabins within a short walk of each other. Neither cabin was completely functional (I’m talking major issues like hot water in the shower, blinds that fall off the wall on your head and kitchens without enough utensils to cook or crockery to eat off) but we liked the light spaces and the space.

The location was terrific. The facilities were ok. The staff were very pleasant. The cottage had recently been renovated is great. The wildlife was a highlight for the kids

I would love to see a small microwave. At the price, bedding might have been included

"Amazing family national park get away close to Sydney with 1950 heritage cottages"

Amazing idyll so close to Sydney, but set away in a national park. 1950 heritage cottages amongst pristine nature with wallabies, goannas, and other animals. Tennis, table tennis, volleyball, golf etc available. Great beach for kids. Accessible only by water, no shops, no TV, a great place to digital detox, read a book, and just enjoy the natural setting.
