Calla Retreat

Spending New Year's Eve in the one-bedroom villa was a truly delightful experience. The villa is cozy, well-equipped, and thoughtfully designed to make you feel at home. It’s clear that Kelly and Richard have put a lot of care and attention into creating such a welcoming space. Their warmth and hospitality made our stay even more special, and the peaceful atmosphere was the perfect way to start the new year. We’re already looking forward to returning in the summer to try out the tents, which we’re sure will be just as wonderful.

This place is amazing! Has an exceptional spirit and atmosphere. A place to escape from the world. Very clean as well. Big yard, apple garden, the pond, the view add to the ambience. The hosts are the most welcoming! Will come back for sure!

The location wonderful, the hosts very friendly and the food exceptional. The garden and the lake are wonderful, one can enjoy a really nice stay in this peaceful oasis. The food the hosts cook is great, we particularly liked the breakfast and the home-made icecream.

Upon departure, the road in the forest and in the villages was terrible.

Being our first glamping trip, we were initially apprehensive, especially as my partner had never camped before. However, our worries quickly faded thanks to a warm welcome and introduction to the site. The serene beauty and tranquillity of the surroundings and amenities immediately put us at ease. What set this place apart was its perfect blend of comfort and eco-consciousness. The thoughtfully designed environment allowed us to enjoy nature without sacrificing convenience, leaving us with a rare sense of satisfaction. In 18 years of travel, we had never encountered such a harmonious balance between nature and comfort. Our relaxation was enhanced by massage treatments offered by Richard and Kelly, both experts in their fields. My partner found Kelly's Indian head massage deeply rejuvenating, creating a transformative experience. The friendly pets—dogs Sausage and Orange, and Lupin the cat—added warmth to our stay, offering companionship without being intrusive. Their presence, along with a shared respect for nature among the guests, created a welcoming and serene atmosphere. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the genuine care and hospitality from Richard and Kelly. Despite their busy schedules, they always made time for us, ensuring we felt valued and well cared for. The food was another highlight. Despite being meat lovers, we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious vegetarian meals for dinner and breakfast. We also enjoyed a meat-laden BBQ one evening on a self-catering basis, which shows they cater for all not just vegetarians! Though brief, our two-night stay left a deep emotional impact. As we reluctantly packed our bags, we realised this was more than just a weekend break—it was a soul-nourishing experience we now can't wait to return to.

I felt healthier and energized during the stay- something I look for but rarely find. Owners gave space but were also exceptionally responsive to communications/requests, food was special, decorations inspiring.

Everything was exceptional! Richard and Kelly are extremely kind and nice. The place is equipped with everything that you would need - a fully equipped kitchen, an outdoor and indoor bathroom and toilets, multiple relax zones, a natural pool... everything. The main dishes and desserts at dinner were really delisious and the breakfast was great as well. The portions were big and the prices they were offering the food were great. They also have a full fridge of drinks, if you haven't brought. The place is amazing for some relax and is pretty suitable for couples and families. We met some great people there, we exchanged contacts with them and it was really nice. Can't wait to visit again, honestly! P.S. Don't miss out on the tents, that's what we booked and we were pretty happy with them!

We had a lovely time at Calla Retreat. Richard and Kelly are wonderful hosts. The food was exceptional and so was the accomodation. Everything is made with a lot of love and attention to detail. If you are looking for a little, green paradise, this is the place for you.
