Beautiful views, amazing gardens, great pool, quiet and respectful environment. Big comfortable beds and rooms. Good food service very reasonably priced.

Missing a coffee machine in the bedrooms.

Atrio is a very nice and tranquil hotel above Calheta. One of the Levada starts right on top of the hotel (at 500 steep meters!) and is less frequented than some other ones. The rooms are well appointed and the breakfast is great. The staff at the reception could be more knowledgeable about hiking but lends the Rother guide, the hiker bible so can be forgiven. Having a car is a must. A special mention for Christina, one the servers in the restaurant: she was friendly and very helpful on hikes and very efficient in the restaurant.

Size matters - incredible nice location just a few steps uphill away from levada nova. Staff, accommodation were fantastic. We had only breakfast booked, all freshly baked /homemade. Local produce, focus on sustainability. Lovely garden

Beautiful property, peaceful and quiet. The most relaxing getaway. Sitting outside the room in the garden and listening to the birds was wonderful. Good location for all the main walks. Great breakfast every morning.

The rooms were very warm at night, we didn’t want to open the windows due to the mosquitoes.

An absolutely beautiful, quiet and relaxing B&B. Short drive to Calheta beach and with lots of beautiful walks on the doorstep and within short driving distance. A great base to explore Madeira for people who want somewhere that is quiet, relaxing and calm, away from the hustle and bustle of Funchal but still easy to reach. You definitely need a car to reach other restaurants in the evening but there are some lovely places to choose from nearby in Paul Do Mar, Jardim do Mar and Calheta as the hotel is up quite a steep hill but work it as the views are breathtaking. It was so lovely to come back here after a day of hiking and relax by the pool with a homemade lemonade and look the ocean. The pool is lovely, clean and never crowded and the restaurant serves beautiful food. The breakfast was amazing and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room was so comfortable, with really comfortable beds and a bath and shower. Every amenity we needed. It was a home from home. Would definitely return.
