Cabañas Los Cantos del Chucao

Very nice place to take a rest and relax.

The setting was perfect after a long haul flight of 20 hours! I felt immediately relaxed sitting in the sun, by a stream, surrounded by bush and birds! It just made the holiday start immediately and the stresses of life drop away! Slept extremely well in Renzo’s rustic, hand- built cabins! I speak no Spanish and Renzo little English, yet communication was effortless thanks to his patience and kindness! A super, congenial host! The wood-fired hot tub is there to be enjoyed! Of course it takes hours to heat, so let Renzo know well in advance! Book here, and you win lotto.

This is the perfect place to relax and unwind. It’s a rustic log cabin in the woods type of place, beautifully situated by a stream, private hot tubs between the trees, no noise at all - just birdsong and the babbling of the brook. Comfortable beds, decent bathroom and shower, furnished deck in the shade, with Renzo being the perfect host, always hospitable and keen to make our stay the best possible.

The house is situated next to a lovely little stream and has beautiful views on the surrounding nature. The host (Renzo) was super helpful and friendly, even though we speak no spanish. We recommend the outside hot tub (paid extra)!

Eveyrthing was in order.

The place is located just outside the city about 10 minutes driving in a heavenly and beautiful oasis. There is a little river behind the back to swim and a Chilean wood burning hot tub. There is also a nice Parilla. We grilled on the patio and spent some time in the hot tub which were both fantastic in such wild a beautiful settings. For a small fee ($50) you can use the hot tub. Owner is also very friendly and nice. You will need a rental car for this place, but it’s totally worth it and regardless, I would recommend having a car in Puerto varas to see all the sites. Apparently, there are also some hiking trails behind the cabin, however, we did not explore this amenity. Highly recommend!

We had an excellent stay at Cabañas Los Cantos del Chucao. The cabins are set among trees and by a gentle stream. The design and landscaping of the property strike a good balance between comfort and communing with nature with adequate privacy between the buildings. The cabin’s interior is well appointed with amenities and features large windows that allow natural light and accentuate the sense of being in the woods. We slept well in the comfortable bed, and the wifi was fast and stable. Hot water in the shower was consistent and soothing. Although we did not use the wood fired spa (‘tinja’), it looked interesting. We also liked the location of the cabins in the countryside about 20 minutes drive from Puerto Varas. As much as we enjoyed the cabin and the surroundings, one of the lasting memories of our stay will be our interactions with the host, Renzo. He was one of the most gracious and helpful hosts we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Even though we do not speak or understand much Spanish, he patiently communicated with us through the Google translate app and Whatsapp. He was kind enough to immediately drive all the way to Puerto Varas when we had a flat tire there and needed help. He also gave us invaluable guidance when we had another emergency and took the initiative to make sure we were ok. He went above and beyond the responsibilities of a host and took care of us like family. We highly recommend Cabanas Los Cantos Chucao and look forward to staying there again when we return to the Puerto Varas area.

We speak no Spanish but Renzo was extremely diligent and helpful throughout. 3 lovely dogs on site and a very relaxing location. The cabin has a lovely fire and outdoor cooking area.
