Stoneymollan over Loch Lomond

It was tidy and well equipped with everything we needed. The location was lovely and the sauna was great. The hosts Gillian and Brian were lovely, very welcoming, and couldn’t do enough for us, their dog Bunny was also a great host. An immaculate wee place and can’t wait to come back and stay. We just wished we had booked more than one night.

This place is unreal. It is almost beyond words how special it is. I think it's the simple combination of the place and the hosts. Brian & Gillian are the best hosts I have ever experienced and it's 100% genuine. It was immediately obvious that they're not being great hosts because they want to get a good rating from you, or because they feel they are there to serve you. No! It is so much more than that because they are sincere salt of the earth people. You can see it brings them joy to embrace you into their abode and make you feel welcome there. It's so genuine & full of sincerity, and I absolutely loved that. Now let's talk about the place... Stoneymollan is truly magical and if you only do one thing today, book this place! It will open your heart and give you a truly incredible & unforgettable experience if you let it. In short, this is an AMAZING place hosted by amazing people, and the coming together of the two has created something very very special. I cannot recommend it enough.

The only thing I didn't like about this place was having to leave.

Loved the location. Views stunning. Hot tub was a special treat. And Gillian and Brian were amazing hosts. Hiking out the door on John Muir Way. A quiet slice of paradise, and short walk to town if don’t want to drive.

Gillian & Brian were absolutely wonderful hosts, going above and beyond. The location is absolutely stunning. Their luxury pods had everything we could have asked for, and the whirlpool and sauna (our group had booked both cabins, so had access to both) were amazing. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer!

Simply magical, stunning views, surrounded by amazing scenery. Brian and Gillian went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed. We were very impressed with their hospitality and attention to details. Cabins were very clean and comfortable. We hope to visit again soon.

The view from the cabins at the top of this hill is excellent - there is a view over Loch Lomond and Balloch town and the surrounding hills. Since you have your own cabin and there is only one other next door, you are free from the noise you normally have to put up with in a hotel. The host was friendly and helpful once we are on location. We were offered lifts to stations, etc. The private sauna is a bonus. A couple of fresh flowers left outside the cabin door is a nice touch.

We arrived by train and do not have a car, so have to track up and down a moderate hill to reach the cabins. While I enjoyed the walk, others might not or even find it too difficult. The cabin is small and have no space for luggage. The additional fold-out sofa bed can be uncomfortable and once out is cramped in the small living area right against the table. Cooking facilities is sufficient to make something you can boil in a saucepan but not more. We also had to ask for a couple more cooking implements. The bathroom sink and shower cubicle is very small, so if you are a larger person you might struggle. There was some minor network configuration problems at the cabin we stayed at, but we managed to get around it with some manual overrides on our devices.

Beautiful, awesome experience, hosts husband and were looked after us like family, we couldn’t ask for anything more, showed us everything and how to use everything at the cabin, everything prepared and before we reached there

Probably could do with a better hot tub, with more spray jets, so you get the experience and relaxation of a hot tub, when you’ve had a 10hour drive then a hot tub with air bubbles is a must to relax your body and bubbles, it’s a suggestion
