Tissington Cottage- Darwin Lake Holiday Village

Warm on arrival. Comfy beds.

Tired decor. Uncomfortable sofas, no instructions for microwave. Tea/coffee supplies depleted.

Location was great and the property was attractive externally. Warm with good heaters and the beds were comfy. Especially loved the heated towel rail in the bathroom! Plenty of bathroom facilities with three toilets.

Struggled with the keybox in the dark, no outside light (wasn't working, we discovered) and in the freezing cold it was fiddly. We tried to call the number for the business (also is the number listed for emergencies) and there was no answer and nobody ever responded to the message we left - glad it wasn't an emergency! Not as clean as we would have liked; dried food crusted on the kitchen counter, tumbleweed of dusty hairballs, hairs in the bath and worst of all the fridge smelled very strongly of rancid raw meat. It made the items we popped in there overnight smell. The boiler made strange noises all night so my Mum, who slept in the double room, didn't manage to sleep. Overall we felt it was a bit shabby and tired and could do with some maintenance and upgrades.

The cottage is very spacious and had everything we required for a couple of nights stay. There was snow on the ground, and the cottage heating was fantastic

It had everything we needed . It was comfy and cosy and spacious . We would love to stay again.

Stunning stone cottage with all the facilities you need. Cottage facing a lake and not forgetting the woods in the complex that you can walk around. Stunning complex would recommend to anyone plus we had our dog with us. We had an amazing trip to the Peak District and would recommend to anyone.

It was very peaceful and quiet, the cottage was lovely but some of the kitchen items like baking tray and frying pans were rusty and greasy, and the drainer on the sink was rusted and dirty in the corners but those things can be rectified to make it better, unfortunately the same can't be said for the floorboards upstairs they were so noisy but all in all a lovely place and would go again
