Bissa Villa

It was our first accommodation in Sri Lanka. We came directly from the airport of Colombo by a private transportation provided by the hotel (paid apart with good price and good driver). The place is a wonderful gem hidden in Habarana close to the town in a few minutes in tuk tuk and also close to important touristic point BUT surrounded by nature. There were monkeys in the place, butterflies, rabbits, also they told us in the night elephants sometimes appear to eat their gardens. The place is perfect and very high quality detailed accommodation in comparison with Sri Lanka’s standards. Their owners are truly good people, all of the workers are well educated and always with a smile, you easily are happy and relaxed here.

The only thing if that you have to take tuk tuks to go everywhere but they provided us with a tuk tuk driver with plenty of experience and we felt secure

Wir hatten einen super schönen Aufenthalt in Bissa Villa. Die Gastgeber Familie war sehr herzlich und aufmerksam. Unsere 1 jährige Tochter wurde sehr liebevoll behandelt und direkt ins Herz geschlossen. Das Frühstück war liebevoll zubereitet, sehr lecker und vor allem reichlich. Wir waren 3 Nächte dort , jeden Morgen gab es was leckeres aus der sri lankischen Küche. Auch das Abendessen im Restaurant war sehr lecker. Für uns war es ein total schöner Aufenthalt und wir haben uns sehr sehr wohl gefühlt.

Eigentlich gibt es wirklich gar nichts zu bemängeln. Das einzige was uns in der ersten Nacht überrascht hat, war das Hupen der Züge. Aber da die Lokführer wegen den Elefanten 🐘 die auf den Gleisen stehen können, hupen müssen ist das verständlich. :)

The owners are amazing. They welcomed us with delicious limeade and gave us a traditional Sri Lankan welcome that was adorable. One of the owners even offered to give us a tour of their rice fields and gave wonderful insights of what it is like to live in Sri Lanka so close to elephants and other wildlife. It was truly a unique experience that we will always cherish.

The family are so welcoming and the animals and beauty of this place are amazing . The food was delicious and eating looking out at the views and train line was a wonderful experience.

Een heerlijk verblijf met ontzettend vriendelijke gastvrouw en gastheer. Ook het personeel doet er alles aan om het je naar de zin te maken.

The owners were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Kaushi volunteered to take us for a walk through the paddy fields and introduced us to the station master at the local railway station. A real throwback.
