"Great location and food, but the room had temperature issues and a faulty bathroom flush."

Location and the food

We visited in the month of Nov 24. Rooms were huge and the heating was in fire place. The room was very hot at night and in early morning gets very cold. The flush of the bathroom was not working and we had to use water in bucket to manually flush.

Place, approach road , owners, food , minimalistic attitude in everything . Rooms have no plug points so cannot charge mobile phones. Organic, non-plastic interior and infra.Staff is well trained, always smiling, happy and content . Food was good , served with love . staff is caring . Bathrooms have no showers . Loved it

breakfast and dinner options are limited .

Excellent accommodation and food. Staying inside forest was a relaxing experience. The hosts and the staff took good care and made us feel at home. Enjoyed the trek to the Zero Point.

All good, 10/10.

The location was amazing with the views of the Himalayas from our room and balcony. The staff was very courteous, helpful, and the FOOD was very good. They even prepared a dish with sponge gourd upon my son's ad-hoc request (apparently sponge gourd [torai] is my son's favourite vegetable :) ). If you like trekking you can trek to the Zero Point to get more expansive views of the Himalayas (we were unlucky as there were clouds covering the views, however got a good view from our room itself). It was cold and the staff would light up the bukhari (fireplace) at night in the room and provide hot water bags under our feet! Mr. Preetam who runs the property and stays there is such a nice person, and we had some good conversations with him over breakfast, lunch, tea, and dinner! The Binsar Forest Retreat is inside the wildlife sanctuary, and you have to pay an entry fee while entering. You have to drive inside for about 6km and then the last 600m is very tricky, and that is why they transport you in their jeeps. If you love offroading and arrive in your 4x4 (proper 4x4), you should try this last 600m route in your car :)

Airtel has very bad cellular reception and there is no wifi in the rooms. You get wifi near the dining area though. Also bring your powerbanks as there are no electrical points and appliances in the room (just switches for lights) - but this was informed to us well in advance, so we were prepared.
