Emerald Palm Boutique Hotel

The staff were very nice. They helped to set up the mosquito net every evening. It is located at the centre of the stone town where I could easily get to the beach and good restaurants. The air conditioning was great. The hot shower was great. There were different options for breakfast. It was clean. I could see that they took suggestions seriously and improved accordingly. For example there was a door for the bathroom.

Everything was good except that the bed was too high for me. Probably because I’m too short. The noise could be a problem but this is acceptable as the stone town is a vivid local area, not just a touristy place.

Perfectly located in the heart of Stone Town. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and the included breakfast was fantastic.

It was a hoorrible experience for all of us and we didn't stay although we already paid in full for 3 rooms. We talked with the owner and he told he will return the amount of 2 rooms so we need an email from our side. I have sent an email but after multiple reminders I haven't received back my money. Again it was a horrible experience through booking.com

Poor housekeeping Bad Smell inside the rooms - we could not use room 4 which was kept for us and we had to ask for another room or cancel the booking, before we were told the hotel is full, when we asked for the refund of this one room the they gave us another room🤔 Breakfast we could not find fruits, also the tea and coffee was saved and 30min later eggs and break were still not ready available. Indian guests came after us and were immediately saved with breakfast while we were still waiting

C’était vraiment super, l’emplacement, les chambres, la climatisation! Tout était très bien! Ils nous ont même organisé notre petit déjeuné à l’emporter !

Some of the reception stuff was kind.

We have not received the room we booked as they overbooked and forgot that they have an account in booking.com. They provided us with other type room and did not manage to solve this problem during our stay, lied that we will be moved to the better room next day, nor provided us with refund that we could move to other hotel. Even lied to booking.com service providers support people about the situation. We tried to talk with the manager of the property from INDIA but he was not willing to solve it and kept INSULTING us, got angry that we claimed this situation to booking.com and kept shouting to us by phone by saying “take it or leave it”, “i will not refund anything”, “you don’t understand with your tiny brane”, ““fu** off” and so on and finally he hanged up. We do not think that it is a proper communication and such behavior should not be allowed on booking.com. The local supervising manager can only say SORRY SORRY for his manager and the situation as apparently we acknowledge that he does not speak any English. The room we got did not match the picture, but according to the property manager, he does not need to show exact picture in booking.com so be AVARE. Also that in the booking.com page the property manager gives WRONG information: the room did not have minibar, did not have fan, it is was not carpeted, did not have sofa, wardrobe or closet, clothes rack, definitely not soundproof, as there was so much noise during the night from the club nearby and from the old airconditioning that was impossible to sleep. Location is good, but does not have enough signboards and the entrance is in narrow dark alley. The reception is only a desk in the lobby which will give you the vibe of cheap and unsafe place. The room provided with glass jar of water which does not seem drinkable and clean. The breakfast is served in Indian restaurant nearby and is very poor and the staff is very unfriendly.
