"Quiet out of the way resort. "

10.0

This resort is tucked away on a rustic road. Very quiet in mid May. For bikers the place is a good place to get on the rural roads. Some hard pedals up hills but road conditions were pretty smooth in general. Our suite at the resort was perfect for relaxing . Weather was cool so couldn't enjoy our 2nd floor patio too much.

"Acceptable Plus"

10.0

During our week stay we found our room acceptable and we very pleased with its location and the resort location. Our room, 110, was large enough but it was not at all lovely. The bedspreads were dark and old. The couch and chair were comfortable but dark and unattractive. The beds would have been comfortable but the bedding was skimpy. We were cold with one thin blanket that seemed short. The wall art was worse than garage sale leftovers. Honestly, such a nice property should be prettier! A big plus here was the water view from the room and the access to two wonderful swimming pools - one heated outdoor pool and one indoor pool. They are clean and well kept. The front desk staff was welcoming and always helpful. I greatly appreciated easy access to the lobby computer and printer although there is no privacy for its use in that location.

"Amazing People | Amazing Property"

10.0

I will start my review of Bailey's Yacht Club from the time I booked it, back in June. I was booking a Wisconsin vacation with three legs; the first was a stop in Lake Geneva, the second leg involved a couple of days in Milwaukee to catch a Brewers game and the final leg of our trip was to be 2 nights and 3 days in Egg Harbor. I booked through Booking.com, which I normally don't do. Typically I book directly with the hotel or resort. Unfortunately, I realized moments after booking that I had entered the wrong dates for the Egg Harbor stay and accidentally entered September 26th instead of August 26th. I attempted to quickly cancel and correct my mistake, but this was not possible through Booking.com and that the resort policy was no refunds. I was going to need to contact the resort directly. I was starting to panic a little that we would be either forced to lose our deposit or be locked into the wrong dates, however before I could even find the direct number to the resort, they were calling me. The woman I spoke with was extremely pleasant and helpful and not only manually cancelled the booking through booking.com, but she re-booked our stay for the correct dates and even upgraded our room to a lake view, which was not an option through Booking.com. I remember getting off the phone thinking, I chose the right place to stay. These people understood customer service. Fast forward to the actual vacation. I won't go into great detail about our trip as a whole, but the short version is that Lake Geneva was not what we were expecting and left us slightly disappointed with the first leg of our trip. Milwaukee was fun, and we had a nice stay there, but that leg of our trip mainly centered around a Brewers game, and while fun and exciting at times, it did not fulfill the "relaxation" aspect of our trip. When we arrived at Bailey's, we immediately realized that THIS would finally be the Wisconsin Great Lakes vacation we had been waiting for. The third leg of our trip was to be the charm. The property is amazing. The lake view room was more like a cottage, with a small range to cook on, a refrigerator and microwave in the room and a separate sitting area with couch. This was a suite with full amenities and a remarkable lake view. When we checked in, our opinion of the staff was only confirmed. The woman working the front desk (I am assuming the property manager that I spoke to on the phone two months earlier) may have been the friendliest and most welcoming person I have ever encountered during any hotel or resort stay in my life. My only regret is that I did not ask for this woman's name so that I may contact her employer and personally explain how excellent her service was. Never let this woman go, she is an absolute professional in every sense of the word. We got our bags to the room and changed into comfortable clothes to enjoy the lake and we ventured out to the adirondack chairs behind our unit to enjoy the sunset. When we sat down in the adirondack chairs we both breathed a deep sigh of relief. We finally were going to find the relaxation we so desperately needed on this vacation. That's when disaster struck. We had only been checked in for less than a full hour when our dog sitter called to let us know two of our dogs had gotten into a terrible fight and one was hurt badly and in need of emergency care. We knew what we had to do, and we immediately began packing right back up again to turn around and come home. My wife went to explain and return one of the keys/check out while I quickly packed and loaded the car. We completely expected to lose the entire cost of the stay, and rightly so. When my wife came back to the room she told me that the woman had offered her a complimentary voucher for the amount of our stay for future use. I was overwhelmed by the gesture and once again it confirmed everything I thought about this resort and its management. We finished loading the car and pulled around to the front desk to drop off the extra key and say goodbye, and it was at this point that the woman explained that instead of the voucher, she just refunded the entire stay minus $20. I was literally overcome with emotion over this woman's handling of our situation. This was an already disastrous turn of events. We had just driven 3 hours from Milwaukee to Egg Harbor, and now we would need to turn right around and drive 9 hours home to Cincinnati. We can not sufficiently express our gratitude for Bailey's and the wonderful staff they employ. I don't write reviews often, but I would write a thousand for this resort. Everyone should know what this place did for us and how they treat their guests. Don't go anywhere else for your vacation to Egg Harbor. In hindsight, knowing what I know now, I would have stopped in Milwaukee on the way through to catch the baseball game and spent all 7 of my days at Bailey's. This property is amazing. The staff is MORE AMAZING and I will absolutely be back.

"Great place with one drawback"

8.0

We too had smelly water. We tried running out the hot water, as suggested, but it didn't work. Water still smelled. Funny thing is, it didn't taste bad when we used it for coffee or tea; but it was really pungent when we took a shower. We kind of got used to it after a few days, but we got our own bottled water to drink. Other than that, we loved the place. We had a nice second-floor two-bedroom unit with lots of windows and a pleasant screened-in porch. There's plenty of parking. Bikes are available for no extra charge. We used a gas grill one night; it was fine. Wi-fi was okay. We liked the open entryway, and also the two pools, the playground (for our granddaughter) and the quiet spacious grounds.

"Great get away spot"

10.0

Great facility - we will be back. Nicely set- up condos. A bedroom with loft gave us exactly the room we needed for a family of 3-4 for a week vs a hotel room. Having both an indoor and outdoor pool is a really nice option. Had we been better prepared we would have brought more food to prepare at the unit since everywhere you go in Door County for all dining from Breakfast to Dinner is jammed with long waits and unexpected closures. It is a ways out of Bailey’s Harbor, which we found a huge advantage from being in a tourist filled town area. Beautiful grounds and lake views. Only complaint would be , that since each unit is individually owned , they are all furnished and stocked differently. Ours had very hard, inexpensive mattresses, and limited cooking items. So the owner of this one seems to be in it for rental income vs a place for themselves.

"Quiet, Clean and Relaxing"

10.0

We had a two bedroom, two bathroom suite with fireplace and kitchen. It was perfect for our weekend getaway. Everything was very clean and in excellent working condition. The kitchen was nicely stocked with cookware and utensils, too. My only suggestion for improvement is to add some non-skid materials to the bottom of the shower/tub and/or grab bars. The tubs, especially the whirlpool, were quite deep and stepping out of them without any support was a bit dicey. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. We will definitely return. The free DVD rentals were great as well.
