Location was quiet and close to everything we need. Our host was very helpful, hospitable and very informative. It's like you've never been away from home.

We enjoyed our stay here. The Homestay is located in a more rural area around 5 Minutes (by motorbike) from the city center. The room was clean and the shower had good water pressure. There’s no AC in the room, but the Fan works quite well. We really liked the kitchen, where we were able to cook our own meals. The owner of the Homestay also assists you with getting a Tricycle, to go wherever you need to go.

We rented a Motorbike from the Homestay but unfortunately it wasn’t available from the first day on, even though we asked about it beforehand via message. I think it’s because they only have one scooter to rent and it was taken by another guest that time. It wasn’t a big issue for us, but it might be worth it to invest into a second scooter to rent out, so more guests can rent at once. Especially since you need a scooter to get around town, if you don’t want to rely on Tricycles for your whole stay.

The room was very clean, the bed was comfy and there was a fan to keep us comfortable. Gisele our host was fantastic! We had an issue with our ferry the night before and she was so accommodating and helpful via message. Because we were the only guests it felt almost like an Airbnb but the facilities were top notch with a kitchen and laundry and lounge area with good wifi. Bonus, you could buy snacks and drinks from the communal area!

The location is a little far from the whale shark sanctuary centre (45 min walk or 5 min tricycle) but this is easily negated with the scooter rental they offer or simply going by tricycle. The flip side to this is that despite the distance from the whale shark sanctuary the property is just a short walk from the town centre and everything you would need.

Bring earplugs and eyes patch. Chickens can be noisy and the window curtains don't filter light The building itself could use some TLC and maintenance. And more hooks and storage furniture in the room could be useful

interior about 50ft from the street. u wake up to the sounds of roosters n birds. the host was super nice and even went shopping with us to buy the ingredients for the local fish specialty dish and the dish came out out very good and delicious

the faucet in bath needs replacement(clogged with calcium so water comes out forcefully) even with windows open it was warm in room with fan on and took a while to fall asleep. i guess its good for 1-2 nights but an air cooler would be nice lol. with lots of vegetation around mosquitos are unavoidable. the windows have screens. rainy season could be an issue due to dirt roads.

Great value for money. The owner is very nice and helpful, makes you feel at home. The room is basic yet accommodating, has a fan and a bed. Everything was clean and comfortable.

Only thing I wish was a water heater for the shower, everything else was great.
