The Lazy Dog Inn a Mountain Lodge

The location, the staff, the food, the wooden fireplace. It's a fantastic place to wind down after a day of hiking (and escape the noise of the city). The staff will cater to your needs depending on what activities you have planned on the following day.

Had an issue with the hot water on day one that was quickly solved but meant I couldn't shower before my first hike. In my opinion, it was an issue that should have been anticipated (running out of gas). The smell of the eco toilet was particularly bad for us. Aside from water, they should give something to neutralize the smell (saw dust or something of the sort).

Bel emplacement autour de Huaraz. Possibilité de loger en chambre ou chalets isolés. Bons repas copieux. Randonnées possibles à proximité. À 3700m d’altitude, nous a permis d’optimiser notre acclimatation entre Huaraz et Huayhuash. Hôtes très sympathiques et accueillants.

À 30 minutes de Huaraz et isolé, il faut prévoir tous les repas sur place ce qui n’est pas en soi désagréable compte tenu qu’on y mange bien.

Great choice for acclimatizing (12,000') before Huayhuash trek. Very comfortable bed and nice mountain and garden views from room. Effective space heater in room and very warm bedding. Excellent healthy/tasty breakfast and dinner. Cozy common areas with nice fireplace. I hiked to Llaca Laguna right from front door, also pleasant walking in immediate vicinity. Owners Diana and Wayne extremely welcoming with very helpful suggestions. 2 thumbs up!!

The place is amazing, the hosts are incredible, the food is insane and the style of the whole thing is uniquely brilliant.

Amazing food and filling portions. Great place to acclimatise or treat yourself to some luxuries after a hike. Great advice on hikes.

Mind it's 6km outside of Huaraz. For us it was an advantage- quiet and peaceful

This was perfect for our stay - we wanted some peace and quiet away from Lima where we live, and this was exactly what we wanted. There were other guests who did some amazing trekking too, so there is something for everyone here. I had a lovely horse ride with Wayne, one of the owners. Ideallic. Wayne and his wife Diana, who are Canadian, are wonderful hosts. The food is brilliant, worthy of the best restaurants in Lima (and dinner is included, which we didn't realise and was an amazing bonus). Our cottage had a wood fire too, which made it very cosy.
