Hotel Smiling Crab

We had the hotel all by ourselves because the situation in the world so there where no other tourist at that moment. Our room was good with a wonderful view to the ocean. The WiFi connection wasn’t that good and that’s why I gave 4 stars because the rest was excellent. If you want te relax and come to rest then this is a very good hotel. Food is good and the swimming pool is also nice.

Super room with terrace overlooking the ocean, good beds, very friendly and helpfull staff and owner. I twisted my ancle, had to lay on my bed for 2 days with my leg up and they were very friendly and took good care of me!!

Beautiful charming hotel with a mediterranean greek style. The views of the sunsets are stunning from the hotel! I travel a lot all around the glove and I am always happy to come back here! It is so chill and cosy, nice swimming pools with view and also the beach is only few steps in front. You can order cocktails and food from the beach as well! The rooms are cosy and the local food served at the restaurant is really good!

Very nice familiar hotel at the end of the village. Clean rooms with view at the sea. We had a familiar studio with seperated room for the children (3) and a very nice terrace. No noise but the sea, very small but well maintained swimming pool on fourth floor. Good food. Service in the restaurant was very good, though sometimes some patience was needed. An ideal place if you are looking for a place to relax away from noise and ever lasting beating of beach parties.

The big sign hanging behind the reception desk should be a final warning to tourists: "no acceptamos devoluciones" (we will not return your money). After a tiring airplane journey with my wife and five yo child, we arrived in the hotel at 11h30 PM. The manager made sure we paid our stay in full before showing us to our room. No surprises there: it was dirty, suffocating and claustrophobic. When I decided to go to bed and pulled the bed-linen, a small cockroach turned up and quickly jumped to the floor. A sleepless night later, we got up to check the amenities: the pool was as dirty as a swamp, the furniture in the common areas was dirty, etc.. And they would not give us our money back. In fact, they told us once we left the hotel for a healthier place, they would not let us come back or have the meals we had paid for. Horrible people.

I will describe SOLE advantage: location. This place is really interesting for the landscape and the absence of any traffic, people etc. Spectacular views from the upper rooms to the Pacific ocean (especially sunset) are absolutely gorgeous. The only sound, which you hear in the morning is waves on the beach. That's it. All other are absolute disadvantages. First: the rooms are very small, with uncomfortable bathroom (it was my first hotel in the whole world, where I've got one towel for the whole day for all purposes and only small piece of soap to wash anything, I'd like to). No air conditioner. It's a nightmare. You can't sleep, you can't relax during the day. You always want to take a shower, but you have only one towel and small piece of soap. Second: terrible service. You ask for a bottle of water and can wait for 40 min. to get it. They speak English, but it does't help, because they do everything so slowly, that you may even forget about it. Third: kitchen. Well, basically it doesn't matter what you ordered. All fish dishes taste the same. For breakfast you always get the same: 2 piece of bread, butter and jam. Anything else is for extra payment (including fired eggs). This was our first and only example during our travel throughout the while country. Fourth: you can not swim there. Oceanic waves are good for surfers. The pool is so small, that it's suitable for two persons maximum. And finally: this is not the cheapest option in the region. I really did not understand this place. P.S. free, but awful wi-fi. almost zero.

We stayed here for 4 nights, but despite the beautiful building/ rooms and the great beach, we do not recommend it. Main reason is the staff & management. They are disinterested, reactive, and just lazy. They manage to forget even the simplest orders in the restaurant, or bring you completely different stuff than what you ordered. In addition, they ask you to pay all of your nights stay upfront. They are not very friendly, will just look at you with an uninspired, bored look on their faces. In the afternoon, the reception desk closes for a couple of hours.

The HSC is a fantastic and friendly place for a peaceful, romantic holiday. The staff is extremely polite and professional!!! The all-inclusive option is highly recommended in order to enjoy the incredible cuisine available. The calm, relaxing sounds of the ocean waves and breezes will certainly provide you with a rather tranquil and soothing stay during your visit. We will definitely return again!!!

i spend 4 days of my vacation in this peaceful hotel.i woke up and i went to sleep with the sound of the waves, very relaxing experience, rustic rooms and the quality of service is excellent.....Marcos,Edwin and Fermina make me feel very confortable thank you guys, the food was good and the charming little pool is so nice and clean beach is pretty and so close,they bring your food order to your table in front of the sea. all i can say is good price,good food, good place and attention...thanks Smiling Crab Hotel.

The hotel literally at the end of the "town" (if you may call it town, because you have a few hotels, a few market places with very few products, no drugstore, no nothing else....). So, it is at the end of the world in a hill overlooking the ocean. Fantastic is you want quieter times on the beach or just sitting in the balcony of your room overlooking the sea and great sunsets, and it also has a swimming pool. The place is quiet, the beach is almost desert, there is nothing else to do there, but it is a great place to have quiet vacations in good company (either human or books) or just with yourself... there is Direct TV and WiFi if you want some noise... The hotel is built on a hill overlooking the ocean with stone staircases. Each room is almost independent, except the lower ones that you have two rooms in each level (rooms 1-2 and 3-4). Staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is great with amazing Peruvian food. The chef is just something...
