Kiwi Cove Lodge

Beautifully lush, quiet and serene overlooking the kiwi orchard, with a lovely circular path to walk to the water.

Location was exceptional and the ambiance of the lodge and facilities was peaceful and serene. It met all the needs of our family members: ages 70, 70, 38, 36, 32, 5, 4 and 11 months.

A small thing, but the shower faucet “whistled” while the water was running. Something the proprietors are aware of and will attend to, we were told. A simple annoyance: nothing that spoiled our comfort or overall stay.

Our unit was spacious and attractive. There was plenty of lounge space outside of rooms. The grounds are nicely kept and it would be easy to spend lots of time sitting outside soaking up the view. The location is very convenient to Nanaimo airport, but set in the countryside. Unfortunately, we had an early flight so could not take advantage of the regular breakfast. However, the hostess went out of her way to make up a continental breakfast for us that we could eat early in the morning before departure. A delightful English Pub called The Crow & Gate is 10 minutes away along picturesque country roads.

There was no-one there to let us in and you're very much left on your own, so it could feel quite isolated. It's a bit quirky - will suit some people really well, others perhaps not so much.

It would have been nice to have had a choice at breakfast - what we were given was fairly unique.
