Chargo Boutique Lodge

A returning stay at Chargo Boutique Lodge and, once again, it was an absolute treat. The perfect last stop to unwind and fully relax before heading back to JHB. The personal touches really make it special, from the beautiful home cooked meal to the thoughtful turndown service. Add to that the fantastic views and warm hospitality, and it truly feels like coming home. Always a pleasure and I will definitely be back again.

The staff was very friendly, and the room was clean and very comfortable.

As soon as we walked into the cottage, it felt like home. The hotel is in a quiet and peaceful location. The cottage was so well appointed. It had everything to make us comfortable. The food was very tasty and worth the wait, even though portions could be a bit more generous 😜. The staff were attentive and professional from check-in all through till we checked out.

The biggest drawback is that the en-suite toilet and bathroom in the main room of the cottage doesn’t have a door, neither does it have a window that opens. This means that there is zero ventilation and all smells good and bad 😉 waft back into the room. The second drawback is similar. The bathroom in the cottage’s other bedroom doesn’t have any windows that open, nor does it have an extractor fan so when you’re taking a shower or doing anything else, there’s no air. At all. Happily, we were told by the manager that the owner has confirmed she will put a door in the main bedroom bathroom. We hope that a window that opens out will also be considered for that bathroom, and an extractor fan for the other.
