Cabañas Tokerau

Staying at Tokerau was a wonderful experience and the host family is very kind and welcoming. They were really helpful with tourist activities on the island as well! Definitely recommend!

There was enough space for two people. The common area was good! The owner and staff were so friendly and helped us very much. Grounds were very pleasant. Privacy was not an issue. Our host made sure we saw everything possible on Easter Island!

Worn out facility that needs to be updated. Cleanliness was poor. We needed more amenities like soap, paper products, and more than two towels per person for a five night stay. The mattress was old and lumpy. A cleaning person arrived as we checked out. We would have cleaned it ourselves had we ample cleaning supplies.

A little deceptive as you think you are booking something, then you get something else. It was a good location and price for both of us, but our stay was full of miscommunication with the owners and overall a pretty poor stay. The best part? We had to move to the nearby Cabañas Rapua for the last three nights and it was awesome.

Pretty much everything. Bad communication, misleading booking process, choppy and plain rude back and forth to understand car rental, cabaña layout, etc. Zero details in the room (water for purchase, etc)

Fantastic helpful staff providing excellent stay as well as great extra services, like hassle-free car rental at lower price than in town (and good car) and guided island tours. The location is ideal if you do rent a car, but it is also walkable, 3 minutes from the coast and some Moai statues and some 30-40 minutes from the center of town.

The people who run this place are amazing, so friendly and welcoming it feels like you're in your own home. The place is beautiful and well located a short drive to the main high street. The room was cozy and bed very comfortable which combined with pitch blackness meant we slept very deeply. We we're collected from the airport and shown around town which was helpful and they rented us a great car and helped us with tours of the island, all very accessible and easy. This is a great option for couples, families or anyone traveling to Hanga Roa

If they could fix or ask their neighbour to fix the slamming door or roof at night that would be amazing as it did keep waking us up throughout the night which was a shame as we slept amazing otherwise

We really liked the couple who hosted us, they are very helpful people and helped us with everything we needed. The cabins are very confortable, clean and have everything you need for a good stay.

I wish I could give zero stars. Our family trip to Cabañas Tokerau in Hanga Roa was far from the tranquil getaway we anticipated; it was a disaster. The cabins, misrepresented by outdated online photos, are not only aged but are also in a severe state of neglect. Upon arrival, a foul odor from the bathrooms was overwhelming, indicative of the poor cleaning standards and general disrepair of the place. Despite advertised amenities, Wi-Fi was non-existent. The owners' evasion tactics—giving incorrect or misspelled passwords, and even disconnecting the cable after finally giving in—were beyond frustrating. The disregard for cleanliness extended outside, with dog feces scattered around, and no attempts made to address it. The situation was exacerbated by the cabins’ leaking roofs during rain—a known issue blatantly ignored by the owners. The state of the floor was a clear indicator that the leaks weren’t new, yet the husband denied any knowledge while the wife claimed they were “monitoring” it. This blatant lie only added to our disappointment. Interactions with the owners were fruitless; they showed a complete lack of professionalism and honesty, even over something as simple as Wi-Fi access. This deceitful behavior, coupled with a blatant disregard for guest comfort and satisfaction, was appalling. To make matters worse, the AC in one of our cars didn’t work, further diminishing our experience. Cabañas Tokerau's interest lies in deceiving its guests rather than providing a memorable stay. I strongly advise against staying here. There are numerous authentic and welcoming alternatives in the area that are more deserving of your time and money. Avoid Cabañas Tokerau at all costs.

Raul was a great host!!!!! The house was lovely, the location out of town but we could rent his cars.

The dogs! 4very loud and at times aggressive little monsters that even killed a young cat in front of us. Regular change of towels and a cleaning of the bathroom would have also been nice.
