The location was beautiful and very quiet. Absolutely lovely to see the stars at night. Log burner was a real treat even though it had not been emptied.

We were very disappointed upon arrival, it just didn't seem as high end as we expected and had paid for., there were no little touches of comfort, no extra pillows, blankets for the bed. A very impersonal experience. The general condition of the lodge felt a little old and a little neglected, the general cleanliness of the lodge was very disappointing, table mats were dirty, dirty pans in the cupboard, inside patio doors were dirty, oven was dirty and the whole place felt dusty. The log burner hadn't been emptied. We had a shower on our first night and it was between scalding hot and freezing cold no real happy medium. Wasn't much better the morning after. We didn't venture into the hot tub even though this was one of the reasons why we booked this, we felt very unsure of the condition and upkeep after seeing the condition of other things in the lodge. The bed was so uncomfortable, like sleeping on a slab of rock, no support from the mattress at all. We both after a restless night got up with back ache and feeling quite tired. Not the restful night we had wanted. We were so unhappy we left a day early and returned home. We did contemplate contacting the owners but for us so much was wrong we didn't see the point. A very big disappointment and we won't be recommending this to friends or making a return trip.

It was so welcoming and cosy. The dining table was all set and we just felt at home right away.

The hottub and log burner were great , the lodge is perfect for 2 and I would highly recommend going Pitlochry is beautiful.
