Wonderful. Extremely authentic eco lodge

Our stay at Cecropia Ecolodge truly made our time in the La Fortuna area. It was so special to stay surrounded by nature, and Jay and Nohelia were the kindest people we met during our trip. Their passion for the environment and wildlife is truly infectious. A few things we would love to highlight: • The food (both breakfast and dinner) was amazing • The rooms were very clean • It’s a bit of a drive from La Fortuna, but the road there is absolutely beautiful • Every morning at 7:00 AM they feed the birds near the dining area, which is such a peaceful and special way to start the day • The night tour with Jay is an absolute must. We were a bit nervous at first, but it turned out to be such a cool experience seeing so many animals in the dark If you’re still deciding where to stay around La Fortuna, choose this place. You won’t regret it.

Everything was perfect!

We were looking for something small and charming where we could immerse ourselves in Costa Rica's nature in peace and quiet. We found that here. Nohelia and Jay took great care of us. Thanks to them, we learned a lot about Costa Rica and the people here, and of course about the flora and fauna.

The eco-environment is very good, fresh air. They feed the birds with bananas during the breakfast time, and many birds there. The staff is very friendly.

This is one of those special places in the world—and unfortunately, there are not so many—that delights your senses, fills your heart, and feeds your soul. I don’t even have words to describe the few days I spent at Cecropia other than to say: Don’t hesitate to book here. The food, the conversations, the jungle, the night walk.. all was the highlight of my time in Costa Rica. Cecropia is a place to be experienced, not checked off a list. Lying in bed listening to rain pound the roof. Hiking up to the wooden observatory to do morning yoga. Watching the birds flock to the feeders as you eat an absolutely delicious breakfast. I will never forget my time at Cecropia.

It was a bit hard to reach in the beginning since I don’t have a car, but once I understood the way it was easy and the lodge was able to arrange local taxis for me.

Heel vriendelijke mensen. Heel warm en lief. Je voelt hier de liefde voor de natuur. Er wordt goed voor je gezorgd. Fantastisch eten. Zeker de nightwalk met Jay doen. Zoveel dieren gezien.
