Lake District and Eden Valley Thornhill Lodge

The property has everything you could ever need for your stay. Very clean and lovely decorated with nice homely touches which really made it feel like a home away from home.

It could maybe benefit from having freezing facilities as we would have liked to have some ice for drinks during our stay but this was a personal choice.

We could not have asked for a more perfect stay than this gorgeous lodge. Debbie was so welcoming and kind to us upon arrival and offered us great advice on places to visit and what was in the surrounding area e.g. shops, places to eat, and points of interest. She was also available to answer any questions we had via text. Lovely lady! The hot tub was spectacular and our only regret is not spending more time in it! It is a large tub and comes with colour changing lights and an option to play music through Bluetooth (which we definitely took advantage of). The lodge itself was clean, tidy and incredibly cosy. The smell from the incense was delightful too and stayed throughout our whole 4 night stay. The bed was SO comfortable, we slept like babies. The kitchen facilities were excellent, we had pots, pans, plates, mugs, all kinds of cooking utensils and cleaning products. Anything we needed, was provided and more. The shower in the bathroom was also lovely with great water pressure. The TV comes with a choice of streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube etc. as well as regular Freeview TV so we always had something to watch. The location was perfect. The views on our doorstep were stunning. It was so peaceful and relaxing being in a secluded, quiet village. With that said, we were still very close to surrounding towns and villages like Appleby and Penrith, both of which we visited. The best place we visited was Ullswater, about a 30 minute drive away.

Our only regret was not booking a longer stay!

Loved the lodge, it was spotless, functional, with the softest bed and fantastic hot tub. Lovely surprise with Prosecco & chocs, Debbie was lovely.

My sister said the sofa bed was a little bit hard to sleep on

Absolutely perfect getaway. We stayed for two nights and but wished it was longer. Debbie was very welcoming and left snacks and Prosecco on our arrival. The bed was very comfy and the hot tub was amazing. We will definitely be back!
