Lodge wasn’t clean on arrival plates cups glasses cutlery really grubby and greasy, Carpet in hall way not hoovered we had to sweep kitchen floor, spare bedding not washed rolled up in bottom of wardrobe all blinds broken

spacious lodge , loved the hot tub and location near flamingoland

spacious property located on quiet site. everything within you would need except hairdryer( which I found out when I got there). Had emergency number instead of reception. lovely walks nearby but busy road to get to them. all dog friendly pubs. plenty nearby to see and do, if you wanted to.

little things but they add up to disappointment if you consider the cost and rating applied. Hot tub was not ready on our first night which when you stay 3 nights to lose one night is not a good impression, this could have been checked. Also the fittings are somewhat tired and ill fitting e.g cupboards not aligned, blinds not rigid, en suite shower does not get hot. All could be updated to make better experience

nice, spacious living area and warm.

fridge was broken - door would not stay closed so by day 3 it was just as warm as the room it was in. bin in kitchen/living area didn’t have a lid so smelled and only had 1 bin liner. no bed sheets, pillow covers or bottom sheet for the sofa bed. only a stripped duvet and stripped pillows which were also dirty (probably because there aren’t any bed sheets!)

location , we like to walk but found it difficult to get anywhere with no paths on the roads either way

The lodge is absolutely beautiful with everything you need. We stayed to take my 13 year old to flamingo land and to end the summer holidays nicely and it didn't disappoint. The hot tub was lovely to end the evenings, it's quiet it's not overlooked and the site has only lodges on, no shops (bit of a pain but we just drove to the shop so no problem) no bar or anything so it was lovely and quiet. When we arrived it actually had tea coffee and a bit of sugar but we nipped the shop and got milk more sugar and breakfast things for the mornings so you may want to bring them, I forgot which was typical of me. We will definitely be returning, driving through castle Howard I think it was called to get there was stunning. Few recommendations would be- The queen's head Chinese 5 mins away absolutely beautiful. Flamingo land only 4 miles away. Piglets farm 12 miles away but on our way out when coming home was a amazing day.

I've no complaints or anything I didn't like. If I really had to pick something it would be the communication isn't it's best. Fridge wouldn't shut it kept opening so had to put a chair against the door messaged told them got a instant reply of we will be in contact auto generated one, they replied with check out details, I've been home since yesterday and they still haven't mentioned the fridge, but honestly we didn't even mind we only message and let them know so nobody thought it happened while in our care. I honestly enjoyed the whole weekend
