Finca La Argelia

Buen desayuno, muy amables las personas que atienden.

Alquile equivocadamente, no había baño privado. Terrible. Demasiados insectos. Vía de acceso a la finca, pésima. Demasiada vegetación muy cerca a la estancia.

Ich bin jetzt vier Wochen durch Kolumbien gereist und habe an zehn verschiedenen Orten übernachtet. Die Finca La Argelia gefiel mir von allen Übernachtungen am besten. Das lag vor allem an den wundervollen Gastgebern und ihren ebenfalls zufällig anwesenden Freunden. Vielen Dank für die schönen Gespräche und das tolle kolumbianische Essen! Mir gefiel das alt-ehrwürdige, von ganz viel Grün umwucherte Haus, die etwas geheimnisvolle Atmosphäre, die Ruhe, das Singen der Vögel am Tag und das Zirpen der Grillen bei Nacht, die vielen bequemen Sitzgelegenheiten, die Hängematten, der kleine Pool. Das ist keines dieser Boutique-Hotels, die mit langweilig hingestellter Dekoration mehr sein wollen als sie sind. Hier ist so vieles original und authentisch. Alles hat Sinn, die Dinge sind echt. Es war herrlich hier und es fehlte an nichts. Adeleida und Carlos sprechen übrigens auch Englisch und Carlos sogar hervorragend Deutsch. Ich habe mich sehr willkommen gefühlt und komme gerne wieder.

This is an amazing place. A third generation working finca. The accommodations are in a late 1800s farm house with modernization to make it comfortable but not detract from the atmosphere. (Wifi, plunge pool). The family welcomed us enthusiastically and allowed us to participate in farm activities as we desired. There are areas to relax, read, play board games, and observe nature (including a trail through a bamboo forest). We added a day to our stay to make the most of what is offered. Breakfast is provided at time convenient to guest... eggs/arepa/coffee/hot chocolate/fresh fruit and juice. Meals are also available for an additional price (local food for reasonable price ). A section of the refrigerator was available for our personal drinks and food. This is a great option for families or couples or single travelers. Lola the parrot even greets you in the morning! Hola!!

The hilly dirt access road is not to be taken lightly if on motorcycles! I'd recommend a list of walking destinations, ie waterfalls, coffee farm (with explanation of chicken farms being restricted).

The hosts were absolutely wonderful! They did their best to make us feel like at home, starting by walking with us to the “guaduales”, having books and colours for my daughter to have fun, the food was also exquisite, the place was very peaceful and a total joy to be so close to nature.
