Beautiful and peaceful area

We booked via Booking.com because we wanted somewhere quiet to relax that would accept two small dogs. We came across Avalon Lodges and thought WOW, so we booked with NO hesitation. When we arrived we were not disappointed, and after settling in the owner Ross came to meet us and say hello. Such a friendly chap, who gave us a bit of local information and a few ideas to do with the doggies. Our lodge was called Sycamore, and came complete with a Hot Tub, wow that will do nicely ! Great value for money, we would most certainly go back there again !

Nothing at all on this visit. Nobody else was staying at the time, so we could do what we liked . Hot tub at 11pm at night NO problem. The roads are interesting, but you soon get used to them.

It was a cute little cottage surrounded by the most beautiful nature! The quietness was fantastic! A true escape from the chaos of London! No point for us to go to a busy Cornwall town! Here, we got to enjoy the stars, the birds, the sheep and chickens! Exactly what we needed! The biggest shoutout to WIN, the cutest and best behaved border collie! She just wants some cuddles and listens when told to go home!

Nothing! It was great! Just make sure you bring all your essentials with you, including toilet paper 😀 you always the option to buy from the little “shop” in the car park!

The peace ! We were lucky enough to have the entire site to ourselves, we were greated by 2 chickens , a lovely chap who pointed to where to go if we needed anything , and a vrr friendly farm dog who I believe belonged to the lady living in the house at the end of the lodges.

Kitchen area wasn't cleaned. We were provided with cleaning products/items so I got on with a little wipe down which turned into a pretty deep clean. Unfortunately I did find mouse droppings in the saucepans.

The host Ross went above and beyond and while not being intrusive he was on hand if there were any small requests.

The lodge was a great base to explore the local area, although it was very remote.
