The beautiful farm, river, and birds.

I am a relaxed bird watcher and nature lover and this place was just what I was looking for. It is near a small village that is off the main circuits and the cabin I stayed in appeared to be the only tourist accommodation in the area. I certainly saw no other tourist during my four nights here. The place is managed by the owner and his wife, both generous and enthusiastic people. Esteban, the owner, is keen about birds and has learned all the local birds’ names and calls and knows where they congregate in early morning, so the spotting and photographing was amazing. Esteban has also worked hard to create a beautiful garden with many types of trees and bushes, many of which are labelled, like in an arboretum. The garden has many bushes that attract birds and I got some superb photos just sitting on my terrace. The property backs on to a mountain river. The food is excellent and copious. It is presented with all the elegance of a Michelin starred restaurant. My cabin contained a comfortable double bed, en suite bathroom with shower and a covered terrance with a comfortable sofa. There was no AC nor fan, but being at some altitude and close to the river, the room was naturally cool at night. WiFi worked well and I could stream videos from my bed! My only regret was only having booked four nights. Incidentally, I did not hire a car but used private transfers. Esteban knows a professional driver in his area who picked me up at San Jose in a timely manner and spoke perfect English, having lived in the USA.

Very beautiful place with super friendly hosts. It's a nice and peacefull place to relax. You can also do a nice small hike to the river. Everything was great, we wished we stayed longer than only 1 night. Thanks for the great time and hospitality 👍🏻

The owners are lovely generous people. Esteban knows about birds and took me to some nearby places that were alive with many varieties of small colourful birds such as tanagers. The large garden has been lovingly planted with a variety of trees which are labelled, and is visited by toucans and beautiful butterflies. At the bottom of the garden is a fast flowing mountain river. Food was copious, healthy and presented in an artistic way similar to a Michelin starred restaurant . Unexpected! My bedroom was a small, independent building away from the main house, with a shaded terrace from which I could photo hummingbirds and butterflies. I saw no other tourist during my 4 days here.

Wish I had booked for longer.

It was like paradise! The food was like a **** star restaurant, biological, regional produced and daily fresh products. The garden with 65 vareaties of fruittrees (500) was like heaven for bird watching. Swimming in the river magical refreshing. The owners Esteban, Yudi and the little Abi were super friendly and very sympathic.

The matras was good, but the size a little bit to small for large People.

Everything: views, welcoming staff (owners), peace & quiet, quality of the food, you name it!

What a setting. Well away from everything in a beautiful garden with a rushing river at the bottom, in your private garden room surrounded by lush mountains

Nothing it was great

It is a quiet place, you can have contact with the nature and meditate. There is no noise. The hosts are great and the food too, they serve typicall food, the fruits for the breakfast are exotic and delicious. You feel a warm and comfy enviroment. I highly recommend this place if you want to get away from City.

The curtains are very clear, so the Morning light comes through them.
