Squirrel Lodge with Hot Tub

I will leave a review when I have received a call from the owners. But it was not fit for purpose

The location

Cobwebs inside and out, the tv didn’t work unless you linked to it, and it only liked to link with android phones. The mattresses in both bedrooms were hard snd really uncomfortable. Bird poo on the decking, really small and couldn’t move the furniture for sun. the hot tub didn’t keep warm for long and went cold pretty fast Seems that there wasn’t attention to deal as the date cubes hadn’t been moved since the 18th April.

That I left a couple of expensive things by accident and we called back within hours of leaving the lodge and they had been thrown away or ‘not found’ I would expect that with a lodge at the price we paid you would atleast keep belongings of your guests for a certain amount of hours so we could call back and pick up our belongings before they are thrown away and not thought about.

Really nice, warm, clean and cosy. The only thing that was a slight negative was the mattress on the bed needed replacing and dirty baking trays in the oven.

We had a really nice 2 night stay at this property. The lodge itself was clean, warm and comfortable. Decor was nice and modern. Had a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, hand wash, washing up liquid and a sponge, cutlery etc, and some tea/coffee which was a nice touch. Bedding and towels were clean. Overall we would recommend. Restaurant on site was lovely - we ate our evening meal on arrival and enjoyed our breakfast upon departure. The staff were friendly. We didn't see much of the site. The recent heavy rainfall meant a lot of the site was waterlogged/large puddles and we had a little rain whilst there too, although the ducks seem to enjoy it! The site grounds were overall well maintained and litter free.

I was a little disappointed as this lodge was advertised as having a machine machine (it doesn't) and there isn't a laundry on site either. I packed under the pretence of doing some washing whilst there. The TV had lots of interference, Netflix/prime wouldn't work (tried logging in to our own accounts) and the TV would crash/turn off - we eventually got digital TV something like on Saturday evening. Being a little picky - but the decking was covered in moss/algae/green stuff around the edges - could do with a little jet wash. We did report this to reception upon departure and they said they would report that and the slight leak under the sink to maintenance, so hopefully that is resolved for the next people staying there.
