Awesome Guide and Family owned business. The lodges are really into the jungle and from my lodge i could see a young urang utan. Always watch your stuff because little meercats monkeys try to steal your food! Awesome experience over there, highly recommend.

It is a very special place to get very close to the jungle with basic utilities but it is everything necessary provided.

Great host with great staff. The lodge has a great jungle experience with a beautiful view and sunset.

Had a great time with Uddin (owner & guide) Jony (guide) and Joseb (guide). We can recommend this especially in combination with trekking because then you have a much better night sleep. You will get a normal matras and mosquito net, which is really comfortable for sleeping in the jungle! They can also pick you up at the airport of Medan for a good price. Once you arrive in bukit lawang, you can optionally leave your large luggage in Uddin's house because it's a 40-60 min walk to the lodge! Of course there is no electricity, so bring a powerbank.

The description in booking.com was not really clear that it is a 40-60 min walk from Bukit Lawang. So we really recommend to book this lodge in combination with trekking!

Spending two nights in the jungle with Uddin and his nephew Kiki was a magical experience. They went above and beyond to ensure I had a great time. I am amazed how Uddin and his family built the lodge themselves from scratch. Highly recommended for those who are seeking an off-the-beaten track experience in Bukit Lawang.

Best place in Bukit Lawang to live an authentic experience, far from the noise of village. The camp is basic and you have all that you need to enjoy your stay: good food, amazing staff and excellent view. Thank you all : Mr Uddin, Balu and Youcep

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely stay and loads of fun. They cooked nice meals for us and guided us through the jungle safely.

There was no shower and only a small toilet, but then again, we were in the middle of the jungle, so it was fine!

No where else do I know of where you can stay in the middle of the jungle like this. Incredible view, and incredible abundant wildlife. Monkeys are endless, and get very close. Very accommodating hosts. Ian was our trekking guide, and went above and beyond in finding us wildlife in the jungle. Really funny guy, and a nice friend to hang out with :) would recommend this stay and our guide entirely

Just a word of warning: this place is raw, which is what we were looking for. getting around even the property requires a bit of fitness and mobility. don’t expect an easy bathroom. however, the beds and lodge themselves are very cozy

I couldn't recommend this place enough. It's the absolute jungle experience. If you are up for some adventure, make sure you stop by this place. You will carry only the essentials for the days up in the mountain and your big backpack will be locked in a room in the village (it is safe, no worries). In the morning you will wake up with the most beautiful sunrise ever, with monkeys roaming around trying to steal some of your breakfast. The sounds at night are incredible. You can listen to a wide variety of wildlife and even see fireflies sometimes! The river is just a 10 min hike from the hut and we used to go swimming in the afternoon after the trekking. It's a simple life with basic commodities but you have everything you need to connect with nature for a few days. The staff: Joseph, Ian, Odin and Balu were incredibly helpful and friendly, always there for you with anything you need. Indonesian people are truly welcoming. They were also quite knowledgeable and they know every centimeter of the jungle so trekkings are always safe, they know where to take you to spot orangutans although it's not guaranteed you will see one, as they are wild animals and can hide or just not come out for whatever reason. I saw 3 orangutans and many many different monkeys and I am so happy I went there. I will come back, Bukit Lawang,
