Sunset Lodge & Safaris

Our stay at Sunset Lodge & Safaris was wonderful. For starters, the accomodation itself and its surroundings were beautiful and as close to nature as you can get. We stayed in the tented suite which was a good combination between camping and luxury. Besides that it was a very special experience to fall asleep whilst hearing birds, hyena’s and other animals. The food at Sunset was very tasteful and diverse, every dinner we had was a nice surprise. And Toni and Vincent were very helpful and warm hosts, they were always happy to give us advice when we were planning our activities in Kruger and they could always tell the most interesting stories about their experiences with wildlife. Thanks a lot for our lovely stay!

We stayed for 3 nights. The location was excelent because you stayed in middle of the bush with lot of animals in Guernsey Nature reserve. When we arrived, 4 jiraffes and an ostrich were in the property eating. It was amazing. Vicent and Toni were excelent with us. They attend us very well, explain us everything about the place and help us with our bookings to game drives in kruger, bush walks and a boat cruise to the Blyde Canyon river. Definetly I will recommend this place. This was our second time in Kruger but staying in Sunset was definetly a much better experience.

The hosts and staff members are friendly. Great conversationalist, full of info regarding the animals there. The food was great, we had an amazing time there. They offer the big 5 game drive and a few excursions. Real value for money, thank you Toni and Vincent

A unique experience, very friendly and helpful staff who make you feel as if you were at home. Very nice and clean place, and the rooms are surrounded by nature, and the animals that come to visit. Not to mention the amazing food. Exceptional safari organization with very competent team. We will definitely be back!

Very friendly owners and staff. Great food and very unusual and pleasant for owners to sit and eat with you. Vincent and Toni very knowledgeable and answered all questions about the area, fauna and wildlife.

Beer could be colder.

From the time you arrive to the time you leave, it feels like Sunset is your home. Vincent and Toni do such a wonderful job of making you feel like you are visiting extended family - extended family that happen to live among the giraffes, zebra, buffalo, antelope, etc. in Africa. They will work with you to ensure your itinerary covers everything you want to do, and are very willing to add on extras (like stopping at a local coffee shop to pick up some gifts to take back home). The food is AMAZING and they will cater to your preferences and adjust for allergies or dietary needs. You won’t be disappointed, my husband and I had an unforgettable honeymoon and we’re so glad we picked Sunset!

I would recommend accepting the transfers Sunset offers if you are arriving from the airport. Many roads in the area are unpaved and very bumpy. We would have not been comfortable driving ourselves, especially since we are unfamiliar with the area.
