A lovely location away from it all. Very quiet and peaceful - we could hear the sea and the birds the whole time. Bedrooms comfortable, living areas great in summer with doors to a sheltered verandah. Two bathrooms was a real bonus.

The driveway up was a bit rough, but this is a working farm after all, so its to be expected.

What an absolutely beautiful setting. The house is nestled in the fields and lots of curious sheep to watch over you. We loved it, we had everything that you would expect with so much old world charm.

"Just glorious"

Spacious, well-appointed and well-equipped house with views to die for. Great location for exploring the sights of the central Catlins. Excellent communication with the owners: they provided us with all necessary information (such as the advice to bring all food with us) well in advance, so our stay went without a glitch.

Driving the gravel road uphill in heavy rain was quite a challenge, particularly as we were in a 2w-drive vehicle 😄

Although Hilltop was enjoyable there were no storage facilities for clothing. We kept our clothes in backpacks for four night.
