The fact that the establishment, should ask you when you book if you want to eat at restaurant, to ensure you have a reservation, seeing that it’s always fully booked,and you staying at property, but can’t have a meal without a reservation !

Slow WiFi

We loved the entire concept of the Black Horse with its magnificent setting, facilities and pleasing ambiente. We were fortunate to stay at a beautiful room overlooking the sloping gardens and paddocks. The interiors of the various facilities are tastefully designed by leaving the original character of the building and adding a modern cosy atmosphere. Well done - whoever converted and furnished the former stables and designed and landscaped the lush gardens.

Maybe not everyone's concern, but I would have prefered a lighter and softer pillow instead of the four rather hard pillows in the bedroom. And yes.....the Wifi doesn't offer Internet connection.... and I am sure this shortcoming will be rectified in due course.

The room had an amazing view. The lawns are maintained impeccably. The restaurants food is delicious and the venue is amazing with comfortable seating and beautiful views.

I had to ask for soap. And I unfortunately did not manage to have hot water for my stay. They forgot to switch our geyser on before we arrived. All this is a pity as the venue is amazing and could have been resolved with strict checklists before we arrived.

This place is amazing. Every single person in South Africa needs to visit it. And the gin spectacular.

Rooms could air for a bit longer. But nothing that would kill me or anyone else
