Old Mill Drift Guest Farm

This was our second time staying at The Guardhouse and it won't be our last...! The area and surroundings are just out of this world. The silence and beautiful nature is exceptional.

The road is in a terrible condition and one of the trimmings on my vehicle got damaged just from being on that road...! When we got there there wasn't any towels in the chalet and also nothing to make fire with. The staff was ery helpful and these issues were solved very quickly. The door lock hasn't worked for years...!

Everything. We had to wait an extra 2 hours before we could check in, because they were still busy drilling, fixing, building and cleaning the house. The windows couldn't close; there was no handles. The toilet was utterly disgusting and the window above the toilet open directly into the kitchen! We were supposed to stay 2 nights, but we left after the first night. The owner, Yvonne, did apologize and say she will see if they can give us a complimentary weekend, but the point is, if a place is not ready don't advertise it.

Dislike: proper dirt road to property, worried car would get stuck on the way Love the whole experience, so peaceful, perfect for solo or couple/group trips
