Kingfisher Hollow

Had to make up my bed on arrival. Room was cold and uncomfortable. Lights not working. Facilities were dirty. Shower was cold.

Beautiful view of the mountain.

The place is old, bottles with used cigarettes on the veranda / stoep. Nobody gave as the wifi password, they just gave the keys to our rooms and that was all. In the morning when we left, the lady that gave our keys the previous night, came to fetch the keys from us in her pajamas and gown.

The manager, Jacques, was most accommodating with my arrival time. He explained that he had only been there for 3 months when I raised the plumbing problems referred to below and that he was busy upgrading rooms.

The plumbing in the bathroom of the room in which I stayed have many deficiencies. The hot tap was loose, the cold tap had to be screwed down firmly to get it to seal and one section of the door to the shower had completely come off the rails. I raised these points with the manager, Jacques, who was most appreciative and said that he would get in good plumber to fix everything up. In addition, one of the chairs needed a carpenter to stiffen it up. The design is very poor and typical of a product from interior decorator which has not been checked by an engineer!

The place is nothing like the photos, it was ridden with ants, the one room's door glass was broken and they expected us to stay in it. The beds were not comfortable, mattress was totally worn, bedding had stains on, walls were dirty, the one bathroom had no shower enclosures. The garden was unkept. I would strongly suggest that booking.com removes their listing as it is false advertising. We did not stay there and was not offered a refund, as they knew that the place was way below standard. I was so upset that I left and did not take any photos to show what we got. We ended up spending more money on accommodation because of this.
