Hotel La Uvita

Friendly helpful staff. Hotel was recently painted and given somewhat of a facelift. Great balcony overlooking the ocean. Could hear the waves from our room.

The lighting was very dim in the room.

The shower water was cool. Pillows need to be replaced.

We had driven from San José, after flying in from Lima, Perú and arrived very hungry and tired. The owner helped us to order some food, which was much appreciated, and recommended us to go to the neighbouring hotel for breakfast the next morning. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was also nice

The shower did not have hot water, which is not nice but luckily we knew it through another review – otherwise it would not have been a nice surprise after such a long travel. They also did not offer breakfast, but they provided us with nice options so it was all good

Simply a room by the sea: no meals were included but were available a short (10 minute) walk up the road to a (relatively expensive) hotel restaurant. The room itself was spacious although the decor of it (and the rest of the hotel) rather aged.

We only realised the following morning the door to the outside balcony didn't have a lock on it, so anyone could have gained access to our room. The short walk to the nearby hotel restaurant is along a busy and thus unpleasant road.
