The Shepherd's Hut

Wonderful couple of days at this very unique and beautiful place. Very kind and accommodating hosts. Something magical about waking up and having castle ruins when you walk out your front door. Thank you so much for having us, would highly recommend.

Nothing! It was perfect.

We loved the huge enclosed field it was set in for our dog to run free (especially with the owners puppy - a perfect match!). The hut was clean and tidy and didn’t take long to heat up at all! The lemon drizzle cake and drinks were a lovely addition as well. The hosts were really lovely and even showed us around the castle before we left. A beautiful setting within what would have been the original castle that gave us pure privacy!

Everything it was beautiful, Pat and Natasha were lovely very helpful. Hand picked wild flowers and a lovely lemon drizzle cake 🙂 This place is very special we would come back in a shot.

Fantastic location set in its own castle grounds!

A microwave would have been handy, but there was a double hob so not really an issue

The location was lovely very peaceful and scenic. Hut had everything you needed and was lovely and clean.

This is a truly magical place to stay. Set In the grounds of a castle there was so much space outside all enclosed and you had sole use. The dogs had the best time ever without us having to worry about them. The owners go above and beyond to make sure your stay is most memorable. The shepherds hut has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We are definitely going to return. Short distance to York, Castle Howard and Malton. I would recommend the Crown and Cushion in the next village for food.
