This is the real deal! No false advertising. Hippos at night, hippos in the morning, and hippos during the day! Hosts Johan & Chane are awesome! Do not miss their home-cooked brai of pork chops & sausages buffet. Fantastic! Best of all... An honor system at the bar. We arrived having missed lunch and 3hr before dinner, so they wiped up some quick toasties so we didn't faint. Be sure to keep them updated on your arrival time, via Booking messages, the reason is explained below.

WiFi problems when we were there, but only temporary. Not a reason to miss. Note... Poor mobile data coverage at the main gate. Need to call once arrive, to get gate entrance code. With only an eSIM this can be an issue. If you didn't have a SA mobile SIM, recommend emailing ahead to request the front gate code.

Lovely grounds and views over the river. I loved the outdoor kitchenette on the balcony. We saw hippos, bush babies and a few monkeys. Wonderful bird watching.

It was very clean, comfortable place. Well stocked kitchen, huge shower. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating.

The wifi was very poor. But you're far, far away from a big town, so it wasn't unexpected.

The location is amazing. If you want a nice rest in a beautiful place, go for it. Stephanie is truly welcoming and helpful, so is all the personnel. We arrived late and she let our dinner in the fridge, with a bottle of wine. Our house was facing the river and the morning view was great.

The bath mat wasn't clean.
