Lions Valley Lodge

Kindness of the staff. Very comfortable rooms. The fire place in the room as the weather was cold and rainy. The food was excellent. Quiet place. A certain intimacy as we are not too many poeple per main lodge. Our Ranger, Bianca, was absolutely awesome.

Nothing! As simple as that!

The Lions Valley Lodge is nothing less than fantastic! You get so well-accomodated here and in personal and friendly way it is i real treat. And the Nambiti Game Reserve has everything you can expect in terms of wildlife viewing and, very important, a great variation of habitats (savannah, bushveld, gorges, rivers, waterfall, ponds, and waterholes) you never get bored during the safari tours, which include 2x3 hours per day, one starting at sunrise (05.00 am) and the other in late afternoon. The guides know everything about the animals behaviour and will keep you safe in all instances - wildlife is at your doorstep meaning no free and unsupervised walks are allowed! The lodge staff offers great service and the food (full pension is mandatory) is delicious, you cannot ask for more.

Could not find any serious negatives. Perhaps better signs to reach the Reserve would improve, although there were actually no big difficulties to find the way by careful driving.

Just everything this place is incredible. The place the pool the animals the food and most of all the staff. Just perfection . All the staff were incredible but have to give special mention to "B" our incredible guide. Siya who seemed to always be there when we needed anything and Zee for just being Zee ( fun and always helpful) .

Small lodge which allowed a lot of focus on individual guests. Stefan was a fantastic guide getting us some great sightings and was very accommodating to what the group wanted to focus on trying to find. The lodge itself was fantastic with beautiful views and the suite was also incredible with outside showers, we saw various animals just from our veranda. Like all safari price is not low but as an experience it is fantastic value for money 10/10 recommend!

The property was nice, but lacked soul atmosphere warmth and kindness no character.

To many to mention we were very happy to leave and shocked for over £400 British pounds per night the service treatment was not as expected From staff catty unprofessional comments in front and behind your back all via one member of staff who was professional the taller slim guy at the bar. Food in South Africa has been amazing until we came here no choices for lunch soggy chips can’t even get basics correct let alone the rest. It was like we were in the way and we felt it very very disappointed have stayed in many many places travelled the world this definitely was our worse. Plates were dumped in front of you. All via one member and he seemed embarrassed taller slim guy. Knowledge was very lacking on game drives again not what we expected.

Loved everything

Of 7 countries of safaris and dozens of game drives I’ve been on, this is the best experience I’ve had. The lodge villas are gorgeous. Couldn’t expect anything more comfortable, clean, etc. Every staff member provided the absolute top service. Our safari guide Tayne is the best guide I’ve ever had. He shaped our entire experience and we are so grateful we were in his care. Lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, anything you could dream of seeing—- he found it. Super knowledgeable and truly a gift. Can’t wait to come back!
