Sam & Bernie are a lovely couple who have built a fantastic space on the shores of the lagoon. They welcomed us warmly and kindly gave us a room upgrade. The cabanas are peaceful, quiet and guests are completely immersed in the surrounding nature. All staff is talented and have care and consideration for all the minimal details, which contribute to making the stay a very special one.

The remote location was beautiful, in the jungle with lots of nature sounds and beauty, while maintaining modern comfort. Perfect location for relaxing and doing absolutely nothing other than lounging in one of the many sets of shaded chairs throughout the property. I stayed there for 4 nights/3.5 days, and appreciated the small size of the property, which has six cabanas in total. My friend and I never saw more than four other guests at a time. The staff was extremely kind, and English is a second language, so it helps to use a translation app if you are not proficient in Spanish. There are two dogs on the property as of 2/25/26, Clementina and Tabitha, who stole our hearts and helped us feel extra safe.

The off-grid aspect means the cabins are powered by solar panels and recycled water (they have their own "wastewater treatment"). The indoor lighting is dim at night, and there are no bedside lamps, so if you plan to read, I recommend bringing a personal book light. The cabins are not completely closed off from the outside, meaning the wooden slats have no covering. We had no issues with any animals or bugs in our cabana, and have since discovered the property uses an eco-friendly deterrent, but they advise not keeping any food in your room. This also means no temperature control; however, there was one ceiling fan that did a good job of circulating air, and it actually got cold at night (late February stay). The bathroom is essentially outside - there is a rock wall that provides privacy and a thin slatted wood door connecting it to the cabana.
