Lodge Atacama Horse

Lodge Atacama Horse made me want to never leave San Pedro. This little gem of a lodge brings you into a world that is peaceful and wholesome. You will not only be welcomed by the most lovely people, but also by lamas, a naughty donkey, a mischievous goat, dogs, cats, chickens….. The lodge is about a 20 minute walk from the town, or a 5 minute bike ride. It is situated right on the edge of the desert, so in the evening we took a glass of wine to sit and star gaze. Also, the horse riding experiences are exceptional and the horses are wonderfully trained, so whatever your ability I would highly recommend you give it a go. A great base from which to explore the many exceptional experiences the Atacama Desert has to offer. We can’t wait to return. Pure magic!!

This ecolodge is on a horse range just outside SP Atacama. If you are an animal lover, this place is for you. Besides horses, there are llamas, goats, ducks, dogs, cats on the property. Our whole family immediately fell in love with the ambiences of the place and the animals. The backdoor leads you directly to the middle of desert where we stargazed every night, absolutely magical! The breakfast was simple but hit the right spot. You truly feel that you are in another world.

It’s a 30 month walk to town.

It is a true working ranch experience, especially fun for families with kids.

Felt more like an unwelcome guest than a paying customer. Location was too far outside of town for our prefernce considering a very dusty busy road.

Comfortable, clean, safe. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. We received many good recommendations. We could not have hoped for a better stay.

This is truly a magical place, I’ve never stayed anywhere like it. It’s super peaceful and full of animals to interact with. The dog Elvis is one of the great dogs! Staff also wonderful.

The rooms are pretty basic but clean and comfortable. Also a 20 minute walk into the town.

I really liked everything. It's an insane place in the middle of the desert where you really feel you are experiencing the Atacama vives. The staff was super nice, and the neighbours we had, the multiple animals that live there, made the experience unforgettable. It's only 20 minutes walking for San Pedro de Atacama and the path it's really worth it! I strongly recommend this place

It's a bit out of town, down bumpy gravel roads but so worth it. A lovely get away and I felt wrapped in the coziness of a working ranch. A large comfortable and clean independent space to stay. Meeting the friendly and helpful staff and the even friendlier animals. The stars at night, we left our door open so often found myself cuddling with a cat. Just a joy of a place to stay.

We loved everything about staying at the Lodge Atacama Horse. It felt like finding a hidden green oasis and animal paradise in the desert. Everything beautifully crafted and thought out from the rooms to the gardens and communal spaces. It was also great to learn that many of the animals on the lodge were rescues, like the amazing donkey Sebastian for example. Also with the horses and horseback riding it was clear how much the lodge cared for the well being of the horses.
