The scenery, the Villa, the food especially the Springbok shank. The staff and Roy, our host, he was very polite and helpful.

My car was not suited for the trail to the Lodge. That's all.

Beautiful setting and lovely rooms. Food was fabulous!

the coffee was not to my liking

I don't know where to start. This place is stunning. The owners are very detail-oriented and fill the rooms with beautiful items from around the word with care. They respect your privacy so much and have been beyond thoughtful in what the offer guests during their stay. We canceled all of our plans to just stay on site because there was so much to do and so many spaces to enjoy. The private cinema, private restaurant, the outdoor shower, the lookout overlooking the landscape, private dinners in your room and outdoors in their gorgeous natural space, the romantic atmosphere across all spaces, the massages, the activities, the personalized attention and patience-- we were blown away from the moment we stepped in our room to the moment we drove away. I've never wanted to return to a hotel so much in my life! Everyone working their is so kind and thoughtful and respectful. Oh, and the food is DELICIOUS. Each course of each meal blew us away. We just loved it. Anyone could fall in love here!!!!!

To provide this level of space and privacy to guests, you have to get quite remote. The road to the property adds a full 20-25 minutes to your drive if you're following Googlemaps, and they aren't "easy driving" minutes: it's on a road with lots of twists and turns. I'd advise arriving while the sun is still out. I still rated our stay a 10 and the drive is worth it-- I just wish I'd known to expect it ahead of time. Also, I'm sure the intention was to welcome us to a room of fresh air that is also connected to its natural surrounding environment, but we were greeted by staff to a lodge with all windows and doors open, and quite a few outdoor creatures (mostly moths) made it into our room, which wasn't our thing. We guided them out in an hour or two, but be aware that A) this can happen, and B) it resolves itself quickly and didn't cause any real issues. Still: a RESOUNDING 10/10 for the lodge, its offerings, its food, its staff, its atmosphere, and its owners.
