Bushbaby Lodge & Camping

As always the staff and owners welcome you like family. Every time we stay there it is memorable. The Bushbaby feeding at night remains a highlight of our stay. We had to leave very early the next morning to go to Mkhuze Game Reserve and the owner assured us it is not a problem. At the gate there is a little post box where we could leave our keys and so we did not have to bother anyone when leaving. I love the owners, they are warm caring people.

That we could not have stayed longer but we had a lot of things we wanted to do in a short period of time during my daughters visit.

The proximity to Hluhluwe Game Reserve.

Our last visit to Bushbaby was a couple year's back so we were familiar with the lodge, or so we thought. Upon arrival we saw the neglect and noticed construction vehicles parked. Once we checked in, we realized we were the only holiday guests, and the lodge was taken up by construction workers both in the campsite and the rooms. It did not feel like a serene holiday place listening to nature. The pictures and description are not a fair representation of Bushbaby. It is run down and far from peaceful. We soon left the property and stayed at alternative accommodation that was just as affordable and 10 x better!

The location and setting is great. Room size is good. Pool is lovely

Beds are tired and need replacing. No mosquito nets or gauze on the windows. Grass unkept. Communal kitchen is run down.

Room was dirty and smelly... bedding was smelly, did not use it for that fact. Unpleasant stay i had.

The place was very untidy, old furniture..dirty bathroom.

Beautiful setting , away from the madding crowd. the hostess was helpful to us, despite the fact that we arrived late.

Ablutions are a distance from the rooms, and due to the fact that it was raining we were drenched on the way back . there were no towels in the rooms.
