Comfortable room and good value for the price

Some space to hang up clothes would have been useful

Very friendly & helpful staff, well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed meeting other folk there. Our room was around the back so highway noise no problem.

Location

Room was dirty with black mold in bed room and bathroom. Towels smelt like that hadn’t been cleaned. Bed sheets were covered in stains. Very damp when we woke up.

Basic separate ensuite rooms and communal dining and food prep / storage area in back packers+ accommodation. Very friendly host (and her mini helpers :)) Communal kitchen and inside and outside dining areas were spacious and very well equipped. Room facilities were basic and a bit old/worn but clean and adequate - fabulous location near the town/whale watch Kaikoura and supermarket, garages etc. Love the name :) would definitely stay here again. Great value for money.

Free onsite parking was on a steep slope (but you could park out on the road instead). Not a problem but just to take into consideration so you are prepared, this property doesn't take card payments so have to pay in cash/by bank transfer.
