Cape Vulture Lodge

I had the most beautiful time with my daughter. The staff was just fabulous, Lerato and Ntsako are just excellent. The food was great and affordable. I would book another stay with Cape Vulture. If you looking for a place to unwind, it's definitely the place.

Nous avons eu une nuit de grand vent et cela était peu confortable pour dormir (bruyant).Il faut laisser la voiture à l’entrée principale et prévoir 20 minutes de trajet pour aller (ou repartir) au logement, mais cela se fait sans aucune difficulté, aux horaires souhaitées, à notre convenance. De plus sur le trajet, possible rencontre avec des animaux (girafes, kudu..).

The location, the view of the mountains just makes it the perfect location for the lodge

The lighting is limited along the walkways to the rooms. They could make them bigger and brighter especially since you’re walking on gravel

This is a great getaway for relaxation. Stunning setting looking at the Drakensberg mountains and excellent location from Hoedspruit. The main lodge is beautiful. Plenty of areas to sit and watch the changing colours of the mountains., The wifi is reasonable (not for remote work and in the main lodge only). Tea/coffe/water available. Staff are lovely - from the guide that picked us up from the car park to take us to the lodge (like a mini safari) and stopped and explained animals on the way, to the lodge staff, chef....all were informative and helpful. I loved hearing about the convservation efforts and aim of the property. It's reason enough to stay here. Our tent was very nice. Fully solar, ceiling fan and charging plugs available. Unfortunately, there was no hot water in our outdoor shower, but there was for the inside shower. Nice little deck (#7) with stunning mountain view. Food was very nice. 3 course dinner (choice of 2 entree and main). Cooked to order breakfast and the usual cereals, fruits, breads etc. We took the sunset drive to the vulture lookout. It was a nice/bumpy 30 minute drive where we stopped for drinks and snacks and even bigger view of the mountains. Unfortunately there was cloud cover, so the sunset light change wasn't there, all good. We didn't feel it was a closer view of the vultures than the lodge, they are quite a distance away so if you're hoping for close up photos/videos (even with professional gear), it's not that type of drive. If you are looking to disconnect, relax and recharge in nature, this is a perfect place to do it.

With only a ceiling fan and the canvas tent, peak summer and winter could be uncomfortable.

La vue incroyable, un personnel au top, et de très bons repas Nous avons fait deux nuits et notre seul regret est de ne pas être resté plus longtemps ! Je conseille fortement de prévoir une journée entière sur place pour profiter

I just wanted to share that the entire experience was absolutely amazing — from the friendly, welcoming staff to the excellent food. Every staff member had such a positive attitude and went out of their way to be helpful, kind, and accommodating, which truly made the visit special. The quality of the food was outstanding and complemented the overall atmosphere perfectly. Thank you for delivering such a memorable experience. It was a real pleasure, and I look forward to visiting again.
