We had a driver take us to Bukit Lawang. We arrived in the rain after dark to a drop off point. We were met by four young men who gave us rain ponchos and carried our bags across the suspension bridge over a big river and to the Green Travelodge. Everybody was so nice and helpful! We had signed up for the four day/3 night jungle hike through this lodge. We met our guide when we arrived and he was ready to go with his assistant the next morning at 9 AM. It was fabulous. We saw many orangutans in the wild. The guides name were Angaa and Andre. We also had a Cook, but I can’t remember his name. Request these guys if you go through the lodge.

If you are going to Bukit Lawang I cannot recommend this accomodation enough. The rooms are comfy and and very clean. The location was fantastic right in the heart of the town next to the river. The food on offer at their restaurant was very tasty and well presented. The staff were also incredibly friendly. Thank you guys for having me!

Beautifully done, well managed and well located hotel and service for jungle trekking. Very impressive. I’ve been on a similar tour 7 years ago and this time it was even better. Internet worked fine. During the tour, the guides adapted to our capabilities, explained well about plants and animals, fed us with such a nice food and made sure we didn’t leave any garbage.
