"Beautiful views, but annoying nightlights ruined the vibe."

6.0

Views at the top of the hill, far removed from ALL other urban infrastructure are breathtaking, that's why I chose this location.

The whole point of our stay were the daytime and nighttime views at this place. The automatic curtains of the bedroom did not work properly. There were two bright white lights on a pole just outside the bedroom that remain on ALL night pointing straight at the bed, killing all vibe of being in a remote location. We asked that the be turned off, but it seems that was not possible. There is a common bar/lounge area which is nice, however it does not have a sink.

"Total disappointment"

3.0

The view and the tranquillity is unparalleled. The 8-room facility is situated on the top of a mountain beside various telecommunication devices. The only person there to assist us was a young woman who was pleasant.

It was a mistake to book three nights in this property, but you only have the listing the hotel selects to represent itself and reviews to make your choice. We wanted tranquillity and comfort, a base to visit the area not a small modern building on a mountaintop. We checked out the following morning. Firstly and foremost, this quite expensive hotel does NOT represent itself correctly on the website. We would never have booked it if the hotel had described its access. To get to it there is an un-repaired cobblestone 3.3km track from the highway that is totally unsuitable for small sedan cars. SUVs would find it easier. However, it wasn't a track I would enjoy doing each day staying there and that had been the plan. We would never have booked it if we had understood that there was no restaurant with a menu. We were asked, one we had paid in full, which of the menus that were sent by email we'd like to choose each day. They were pretty ordinary (we live both in Mexico and Europe and are familiar with both quality and traditional cuisines) and were to be prepared by the only member of staff we saw. The breakfast was fine but to be offered a sincronizada sandwich for an evening meal isn't very thrilling. The person with whom we communicated by email was not even on the property. Nobody answered the phone when I rang before arrival. Unfortunately, we'd been assigned a room accessible by spiral staircase too difficult for us and as there was no one else in the property, we asked for a different room and agreed to pay a price difference. And unfortunately again, this room had no hot water, no hairdryer, and some of the blinds didn't work. After a restless night we ate breakfast and checked out. Whilst so many other guests seem to have enjoyed their stay, we imagine that they only stayed a night and that perhaps drove far more suitable vehicles.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is literally at the top of a mountain. And Petra was incredibly helpful and made delicious meals. Thanks.

The staff was amazing during our entire visit. The location we close to the town and easy to access other areas as well. The view from the hotel is also amazing.

Nothing, everything was perfect.

"Gorgeous view. Secluded and roomy!"

9.0

Gorgeous location on the top of a hill - Completely secluded from others (and we were the only people staying there which was amazing! Felt like we had rented the whole house! Otherwise you are sharing the living room and dining room with other guests.) It was rainy and cloudy when we arrived which made it even more impressive the next day when the clouds parted and we could see the view! It was nice location to visit the Central Valley, Mitla, Hieves de Agua, & mezcal palenques. Must have your own car! Petra (caretaker) was wonderful and cooked great food. Very safe.

It was pretty cold when we were there (mid-October) there was no heat in the house - and at the top of the mountain, it was very windy. We were in all of our layers, including down jackets and thick socks. A few photos are inaccurate - the full kitchen has been removed and the only option is to order food (which was delicious, but would have been nice to have a microwave or coffee pot.) the separate space to eat was pretty small and lack luster compared to the house - Petra was kind enough to bring our meals to the house, though that would be harder with other guests there at the same time. I think the view made up for any downside!
