Firefly Eco Retreat

Un véritable petit écrin accroché à son rocher, dans le charmant village de pêcheurs de Shimoni. Nous avons opté pour le bungalow, magnifique, très propre, spacieux et calme, avec une superbe vue sur la mer. Le personnel a été aux petits soins et a toujours répondu à nos demandes. Ils nous ont notamment organisé une sortie snorkeling avec la compagnie Pilli Pipa : observation et nage avec les dauphins, puis un excellent déjeuner swahili sur l’île de Wasini – un moment inoubliable. La nourriture de l’hôtel était excellente : nous y avons déjeuné et dîné chaque jour, et chaque plat était savoureux, varié et parfaitement assaisonné. La piscine, très profonde, est aussi un vrai plus. Enfin, mention spéciale à Dinah, qui nous a accompagnés pendant ces trois jours avec son sourire et sa gentillesse. Un séjour exceptionnel 10/10 que nous recommandons sans hésiter !

The whole place is a breath of fresh air. Their houses are goals, and everything about firefly eco is gorgeous. I liked the house I stayed, the tents were great and the food was delicious. The staff is 10/10. Mr. Jacob, in specific, was very kind, helpful and nice towards us. We loved every second of the stay at Firefly Eco.

Honestly, everything about Firefly Eco is to be loved. There are no negatives from me.

A wonderful stay in a beautiful, cleverly designed, and thoughtfully appointed cottage. It's just as nice as the photos! Service was terrific, and the food was delicious. And the waterfront setting and view are magnificent.

The lodge is situated in an absolutely stunning location, offering a serene and tranquil environment that is perfect for peace, introspection, and reconnecting with nature. The setting is truly breathtaking, with a sense of quiet that allows guests to fully immerse themselves in the beauty of the surroundings. The staff’s warmth, care, and attention to detail are truly commendable. A special mention goes to JACOB and DINAH, whose exceptional hospitality and professionalism made our stay unforgettable. Their dedication to ensuring every aspect of our experience was seamless is deeply appreciated. We were particularly impressed by the lodge’s commendable efforts in coral reef restoration, addressing the impact of bleaching, and its commitment to education and advocacy for marine conservation. This initiative adds a meaningful layer to the already wonderful experience, allowing guests to witness and support the positive impact of sustainable practices. We will certainly return and highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with a purpose. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable!

A longer stay. :)

Lovely views from the restaurant area over the water. This place is connected to a little centre doing research into protecting and restoring the coral reef. We met the post graduate students from around the world there, heading off to dive and gather data. Amazing place and people and lovely staff Lovely 20m pool. We are budget travellers so stayed in the fixed tents. Good to have a fan in there. Toilets and showers are simple and fine. Buy a little food at the local village or pay for meals in the eco retreat. But the beer is cold. We organised a snorkeling trip through the manager to the marine reserve. Stunningly beautiful.

Very friendly and helpful staff

We where only customers. And swimming pool Neede attention for cleaning, food was acceptable, entrance not very clear indicated with name on gate. Village was not prepared for tourist.
