"Extra friendly family-owned Lodge, but with big insects in the rooms and no electric plugs"

4.0

This is one of the most difficult reviews to write because we loved the hosts and it pains me that we can't give them an excellent review. During our stay, we were even invited to join in on a neighbor's Birthday party which he was celebrating in the Las Vegas Lodge, and we got to meet all the family of Las Vegas Lodge and their friends. Everyone was very friendly and super nice. The trips to rice fields were also very nice and without any issues. So hospitality I would rate as 8/10, day trips also 8/10, however, the rooms and accommodation, in general, was around 2/10.

The room was just 4 bare walls with a bed, a window (with a beautiful view) and just a light bulb. There was no electricity in the room, everyone has to charge their devices upstairs at the bar. Most of the toilets use a bucket flush (not uncommon in the Philippines). There was some kind of animal running inside the ceiling above our room all night long, it could have been a big rat or a ferret since it sounded really loud. We never saw the animal but this made it difficult to sleep, but the really bad part was - We had a scorpion in our room which we had to kill, and there was a spider the size of my palm on the toilet door right in front of our room (supposedly just a "house spider"). The spider might not have been dangerous at all, but we are not used to spiders of this size, but a scorpion is always really dangerous. Now, I understand that Banaue is in nature, and these animals can just be there and it's not easy to control them, however this really ruined our stay because we were terrified to enter our room or any toilet from then on. So if you want to stay, be ready for this and you'll have a great time.

"Very good"

8.0

Great staff (collected me from town when I arrived, at no extra cost, helped me to organise rice terraces tour and minivan back to Baguio picking me up at their door), everything working well (hot shower, etc) and reasonable restaurant.

No electric sockets in the rooms.

The staff was very helpful, they introduced us to their guide Wilson, who arranged a two-day tour for us. The tour was amazing, we were able to see different villages in the rice fields, the landscapes were mind-blowing. The lodge was very cute, with a nice decoration, the food was very good and the view from the dining room to the rice fields was very nice. Wilson was a very friendly guide, he told us a lot about Banaue culture and traditions. We had a very great time at the lodge and during the tour with him. We highly recommend it !

"Money grabbers, avoid"

2.0

Beautiful view from the restaurant. Overall clean. Someone came to pick me up from the bus station. Someone woke up very early to open the metallic curtain and stayed until I was on my 5am bus. Replies were mostly quick.

I booked a single room because of the 9.4 rating. It is not worth that. The description of the room is wrong. There is no wifi available. There was barely any phone reception from my room either. The only window opens on the corridor, so no mountain or garden view as advertised, and no intimacy either. There are no power plugs in the room. There is only 1 power outlet available near the reception for recharge. There is only 1 common shower available, 1 female toilet and 1 male toilet, with extra toilet in the restaurant. The shower is supposedly hot, but even when I followed the instructions is was barely lukewarm. There were multiple wires taped to each other to power the hot water machine in the shower room and it seemed unsafe. The shower and toilets were located 2 floors below my room. An information panel mentions that they charge 20P per charging device and 50P per shower but they did not charge me. They only have 1 single room. My room was not clean. The back or the main door was black where people touched it. There were numerous smashed flies on the walls. The room was humid, hot and stuffy. No aircon or fan. The room was very small and had a low ceiling. The bed springs were terribly noisy everytime I moved. The mattress was too soft, it felt like sleeping directly onto the hard bed base. The lodge is located about 1.5km from the center. 20P per tricycle or 25min walk up/20min walk down. They more than pushed to me to have my meals there, but I did not. When I arrived, I was offered tours in a very pushy manner. I said "later" twice but Wilson continued to talk. I was tired after my bus journey and wanted to freshen up and relax first. Wilson assumed I wanted to do a 2 day trek through the rice terraces with an overnight village stay. He asked me multiple time about it, because "that's what most people do". I ended up not replying. I really felt pressured to pay for a tour with him, which I did. It was pricey.

The staff were so nice, they picked me up early in the morning after a 9-hour nightbus and helped me book a new busticket to my next destination. The place is really clean, and the food is so good. Everything was perfect, had a really good time🤩, thankyou so much for that. I did a 1 day tour through the rice terraces with Wilson, best tour guide! If I would ever go back to Banaue, I'd book a room in Las Vegas lodge again!

The owners were great and very friendly. The food was fantastic! They also use a local tour guide named Wilson. I went on two tours with him and they were fantastic! Wilson was a lot of help and had great information, he is a local that knows the area very well. Also the hotel contacts you on WhatsApp and they pick you up from the bus station. It was a great experince!

"A jackpot of a homestay"

10.0

Coloy and Celyne made my stay wonderful. They are so thoughtful and kind. They think ahead for their guests and try to ensure their safety and enjoyment every step of the way. They have someone pick you up if you're traveling by bus, and will also provide a trusted guide to show you around Ifugao. I got to jam out with them as well! I had such a great time. I'd totally recommend them. Great for budget backpackers! Wifi, great view from dining area.

There was no place to charge your phone in your room, though you can charge your device near the bar.
